Does the developers never look into the ROF forum ??

Last desperate attempt, though I know it´s the wrong forum, but still trying to attend the developers.....

Does any of the developers look into the ROF forum ?

A server bug with the gunners has now been around in ROF for quite a while.

It has been reporeted in numerous threads and the devs promised for almost a month ago that it would be fixed end of april or first in may.

Two server maintenances has been done i  the mean time, but still no fix for this bug.

No one from 777 has commented on this ever since, neither Jason or any of the devs, so thats why I try here.

We're aware of the bug, but I certainly made no promised on when it would be corrected.

As noted on the RoF forums, Zak at some point gave an estimate for a fix by late April/early May - I'm sure he hoped that would be the case when he made the statement, but that hasn't worked out of course.  Good to see another update from Jason, even if it isn't good news in terms of time frame.

Hopefully they'll be able to get it fixed soon - gunning in RoF has been a lot of fun and this bug has bummed a lot of people out, but I'm sure the devs will get it patched as soon as they can figure it out.

ROF updates or even a roadmap is a joke atm.

I would bet, that we won't see any of them anymore.

Sad but true.

So much potential left untouched. What a shame. There would have been a great marketing opportunity if I think of the centenary.

So much early war stuff that could have been introduced. A pity...

So I need to

spend even more time with WoFF

I hope it too, mate. :)

I really love RoF.

Me too, I had such a flight on Sunday :

A group of 4 Strutter of Sop107 were intercepted by 3 albDII late.

I had to jettison my bombs and fought for my life during 15 minutes at low altitude, shooting down one of my agressors.

Unfortunatly, one of my wingmen was not that lucky and was shot down.

Fantastic time !

It is sad that RoF - the best ww1 sim looks much like abandon ware. Sadly we can't do nothing about our orphan just lament and beg like some are doing for years now.

I bought BOS to support team which promised that futures and fixes from BOS will came to ROF. Guess what happend? How and why i can trust those same team and preorder BOM? Do what you mouth said!

You guys need to stop it... Good grief... I think that until an announcement is made that support for RoF is discontinued folks should just bear in mind that this small team has a lot of work on their hands.

That was true during development of BoS when RoF was left on autopilot and people complained simply because nothing was happening , Bearcat. Current gunner bug makes people who have been playing RoF for years quit game, they don't even bother raging on forums, just lose interest and stop appearing. Yes, the team is as small as ever and more overworked than ever, but this is easily as game-breaking bug as all things team was emergency-patching in  BoS in last summer/autumn. So the team must be made aware how serious this issue is (I believe they are by now  :salute: ), and they should give us some feedback to convince people considering leaving to wait some more.

I think, it is absolutely allright to raise our voices and let them know, that there are plenty of folks out there, who still care about RoF.

And why should we not discuss our concerns regarding the future of RoF?

I wonder if they would release the source code so the community can fix bugs (help out). BUT only to people who are known to have the skillset to perfrom such tasks.

The S-16 has been added + the gunner fix has been applied with this update. Anything else is still unannounced yet.

Dear pilots!

We inform you that Rise of Flight Master server is going to be temporarily shut down for a scheduled maintenance on June 2nd, from 09:00 till 11:00 AM UTC/GMT.

We are going to deploy a game update that will include S-16 and a bunch of bug fixes (gunner bug included). Also, with this update we'll add ILYA Muromets to Steam and prepare for a Steam release of ROF United free-to-play edition later that day.

S16 is jolly to fly. New realistic gunnery is great and gunner bug fix helped too. Thanks Devs!

What do you mean with new realistic gunnery? Did I missed something?

The S-16 is a cool addition. It turns on a poststamp but is very tailheavy and slow. Hunting them with an Albatros DII, I was allways overshooting.

I'm not sure how correct/accurate it is to refer to the recent feature as "realistic gunnery" (but that's probably a topic for one of those multi-page threads that degenerates quickly into snarky in-fighting) - it's a relatively new difficulty/realism setting labeled something like "improved gunnery", and can be toggled on and off in the options/settings screens.

I missed that. When did this feature arrived? Just recently with the new patch?

It came with the patch before this one as far as I know. Anyway I find it strange there's still no patchnotes availabel after so much promotion.

Since my realism settings are carved in stone and never change, I never ever had a look at them since ages.

So I really missed this feature.

Well, at least I know what I have to do this evening. :)

According to Han this option turn on more realistic dispersion of ww1 guns whitch they found during research gunnery for BOS ww2 guns. It is turn off in most/all mp servers becouse there is fear for sinper shots. IMHO this take skill factor from some pilots for game balance/lack of implementation of other factors to make aim more challenges. It would work without much effort if lethality mod by Gavagai was implemented in mods off mode.

In one sentence: take skill out give it to propability and i don't like it.
