Doesn't seem like the developers have learned anything from the past.

Mechy was probably referring to SEOW which is still alive and working with IL-2 1946. This is not a game mod. Rather it is an add-on that provides a detailed campaign system around a series of sequential (in time) coops that involve air, sea and ground actions generated by human orders. It presently supports over 90 IL-2 1946 maps.

As an aside, the new development in SEOW now is focusing on adding Arma2 (Iron Front) into SEOW, so campaign missions can be played either in IL-2 (as a pilot) or in Iron Front (as a soldier) or both games, allowing players a greater range of sim experience as the campaign progresses.

Wasn't that where HSFX came from?

well niche doesn't mean

they ain't making money.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

What about the problems and missing pieces in BOS?

What missing pieces? There are more seasonal maps coming which won't be an extra cost but afaik BoS is nearly complete with content. Time to move on to another theater. There will certainly be more content created for BoS but I expect much of that will come from 3rd parties.

OT WARNING

Wasn't that where HSFX came from?

SEOW had its origins in RAF74 Virtual Squadron around 2003. After a couple of years SEOW established its own identity and became more widely used in the IL-2 community. This was in the pre-modded days of IL-2. Then the first unauthorised mod of IL-2 came along (the "sound mod"). Subsequently several different mod packs became popular, and 242 Squadron decided to compile their own mod pack, called "History Sound Effects", or HSFX for short, focusing on realism and historical pilot immersion. The 242Sqn guys also liked SEOW-style campaigning and developed several code extensions for HSFX to add value to persistent campaigning. The SEOW team heard about this and in the 7 years since there has been continuous cross-fertilisation of ideas and functionality between HSFX and SEOW, and even some feedback into Team Daidalos. HSFX brands itself as SEOW-compliant, and SEOW has a number of optional extensions that rely on specialised HSFX code features. But SEOW and HSFX can operate perfectly well independently of each other.

Cheers,

4S

And Bearcat, I don't care what you say, by moving this post to here it became quiet and out of the eyes of the casual forum browser.

40+ replies to your topic is what you call "quiet"? :scratch_one-s_head:

Wow, good point Luke.... you just had to come here to point that out ...... hmmmm but, how many do you think it would have if it was still in the General Discussion forum.  ;)

Nope ...... wasn't looking for no flame fest. Have better things to do.

Flamefest are started by smart mouth's that don't have anything constructive to add. Like yourself.

The point I was making is that this has all been done before. Do you think the first Il-2 game was harder to make or

do you think this one was. Or how about the 2nd one? Or any of the add on's. I'm sure they have all had their challenges

but I would have liked to seen a little more effort put into making this a strong sim, instead of just another game with WWII planes.

A weak multiplayer setup. A single mission builder that many times just makes no sense. No ongoing campaign. No coop play.

Should I keep going?

Doesn't seem like the developers have learned anything from the past.

That is absolutely someone looking to start a flamefest.

I am just curious BSR, How is it that you can read everyone's mind and decipher the intent of there posts? You just go from thread to thread telling everyone what someone really meant when they made their post. Do you ever contribute anything except this abusive stalking around here? Really I am curious, would you mind sharing one constructive thread or post that you have made that doesn't try to belittle or insult someone? Seriously, please provide a link if you can.  I am doubtful, but maybe you can prove my hunch wrong? How about it?

Spotting [Edited] like you isn't nearly as difficult as you seem to think it is.

Since I am the [Edited] BSR, how about you post that 1 link to something positive that you have posted here on the BOS Forum? You have posted almost 1400 times, it should be easy right? Sorry to the OP, my first reply was OT.

How about you go read all my posts and find it for yourself.  Answering to you isn't exactly at the top of my "to do" list.

Get a life.

Considering the time you have spent whining here and on SimHQ about a game you don't like, you might consider buying some mirrors.

BTW, I have been very critical of the unlock design they used for this game.

or criticizes your precious BOS. Get a life.
