If BoS is going to take a year or 2 to make perhaps it's biggest rival would be modcod? The old Il2 found a whole new lease of life when the Devs had finished with it and modders took over, in fact you could say it's golden age started then... If modders can add new planes and maps to COD surley Cod's much newer engine would trounce BoS? Thoughts please! Simon 1

You can take it to any number of other venues where it would be much better received and the debate or discussion cold flow much more freely. This is not the place.

This is the 3rd post by AJW stating that someone is "on the wrong forum"... Would it not just be better to direct the OP to the FAQ or "Ask the Devs thread" where this legitmate question has been asked and answered?

The quicker some of you get that in your heads the better off things will be. Why insist on discussing plans for CoD here.. You know if folks had come over to UBI back in the day .. and started extolling the virtues of modding CFS3 it would have gone down a similar route. There was a place for that.. and the IL2 board was not it. Sim Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 No one is going to release the source code. Why would they? What do the 1C and Ubisoft gain from open sourcing a project they worked on for 6+ years? Are you going to sell your mods and give them a percentage? Publishers don't work this way.

I'm all open to have the same freedom of speech over here as we have on the RoF forums but at least do so in the right section. This place is getting swamed with the "omgwtfoverexcitment/frustration" type of thread already now, a little bit of structure will actually keep the devs around.
