Cannot map any keys or Joystick settings

Greetings all, new here. Just purchased and installed game today, looking forward to it except....

When I go into settings and try to change any keys or config joystick, it flashed "null" after I try to set anything on any command. Tried rebooting and checked Joystick, throttle and pedals in Win7 and other sims, all ok.

I have a X52 stick and throttle setup with CH Pro Pedals for rudder control.

Seems to be in game issue, any ideas would GREATLY be appreciated<G>

 

I even tried to change to similar settings as my old IL2 Sturmovik sim but no matter what I try to change, keys or joystick commands I keep getting "null" like it does not recognize any change at all.

Did you try clearing out the assigned keystroke first?

Yes I have. Does not matter what I try to map, keys or joystick. It allows me to erase existing config but not add or change anything?????

Have a look in your 1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\input and check that your current.map isn't set as read only. This might be the problem if you've installed the game to your Program Files directory.

Thanks for the replies. Figured out the issue....

I had my Track IR working as I was trying to map, and ANY movement caused the "null"

Shut it down, was able to map and set Joy, then re-start trackIr (after exiting game and coming back in), and all seems to be working now!
