Bearcat Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 I just pulled the trigger on a set of MFG Crosswind pedals.. My Saiteks are getting on and the only reason they have lasted this long is that I don't fly nearly as much as I used to... but I started to notice some oddness in them.. so I decided to just pull the trigger on the Crosswinds.. This is probably the last big thing I will be able to do for myself for a while that will not be an absolute necessity as I got laid off two weeks ago.. last official day 5 weeks from now and I got a severance package that should hold me through to the fall so I said to myself .. what the hell why not.. Am I crazy or just in the middle of a mid life crisis.. Maybe I should have gotten the sports car.. 2
sallee Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 I think it's the wisest decision ever made by any human in the world ever. I hope that helps. It's what I always want to hear when I've done something impetuous....... More seriousl, I'm really sorry to hear about your job. There should be a place for you at the UN...
VR-DriftaholiC Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Wouldn't be able to get much of a sport car with crosswind money
Silverback Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Cool man, they look great but damn 400 bucks is a lot. Keep us informed please and for the record I would say not crazy.
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Except for the heavy sigh immediately following the purchase, I haven't regretted a single moment of owning them.
Urra Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Seems like a very logical decision. Hope they arrive in five weeks or sooner. Sorry to hear about the job, sounds like Mr. Burns was in atleast a slighlty generous mood.
JimTM Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Yes, you're crazy Bearcat. But, I want to help. Just send the pedals to... ;-) Green with envy! Jim
Lusekofte Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Had one for some time now, never regretted that, my previous was Saitek combat rudders, MGF is much better
Bearcat Posted May 9, 2015 Author Posted May 9, 2015 Yeah I have a set of proflights that are now about 8 years old.. I am surprised they lasted this long they are my second pair..
6./ZG26_Emil Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Sorry to hear you got laid off I have Sietek Pro Flight which are ok....they're the only peddles I've had so I don't know any different.
Finkeren Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Hmmmm better go buy some pedals as well. After all these years I finally took the plunge on TrackIR. Might as well get pedals while I'm at it.
sallee Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 I hear Bearcat has some Saiteks in absolutely perfect* working order. Perhaps you could make an offer. *no warranty or claim regarding fitness for purpose intended or implied.
Bearcat Posted May 9, 2015 Author Posted May 9, 2015 The thing is when I initially ordered these it was about 6 months ago and back then I was getting tons of ot and there was not even a hint that a layoff was coming...I got the email saying they were ready to ship and I was going to cancel but then I decided to just go for it.

Am I crazy or just in the middle of a mid life crisis.. Maybe I should have gotten the sports car.. Are "YOU" crazy? Certainly! Aren't we all? Unless you have a very understanding wife/girlfriend then you know from whence I talk. But, they also know IT makes you happy and this is all they want. So yes, you are crazy. But your NOT alone ..... Chief
Bando Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Purchased the Crosswinds some months ago. Previously had CH pedals. Flying in ROF made a huge difference, flying in BOS not so much. But the quality of work is outstanding, the support Milan gives is unrivalled and they look great, are sturdy and you won't be needing to buy new ones for these will last a lifetime. Crazy? You must be in good company then.....
Rjel Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Those are impressive looking. We are close in age Bearcat, so I can understand your trepidation. Enjoy your purchase. I'm sure you've earned it many times over. Best of luck to you.
VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Like Bando I bought a pair to replace my 10 year old CH Pro Pedals. There is no comparison in build quality or accuracy. Worth every penny. Milan is one impressive guy. Enjoy!
Bearcat Posted May 10, 2015 Author Posted May 10, 2015 Good stuff guys.. Thanks for the encouragement.. The thing is I am too young to retire and too old to start from scratch again.. but you do what you have to..
HippyDruid Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Better to regret something you have done, than something you haven't!
Feathered_IV Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I reckon you'll still be enjoying them long after you've forgotten about the money. Congratulations on the purchase. Very sorry to hear about the work situation though. I hope there is something amazing around the corner for you.
Trident_109 Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Sorry to hear about the layoff, BC. Hope you quickly end back up on your economic feet with a new job. Update us when you get the pedals. Would be interesting to hear your feedback.
Bearcat Posted May 31, 2015 Author Posted May 31, 2015 Thanks guys for all the encouragement.. Sorry to hear you got laid off I have Sietek Pro Flight which are ok....they're the only peddles I've had so I don't know any different. My first pair was a pair of CH pedals which failed on me after about 3 years..
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 My CH pedals went almost ten years without failing. They are collecting dust after I got my MFG's. Still trying to get one of my local friends to pick up the hobby and take them with a CH joystick. My throttle is now on my DIY collective for helicopter flight in FSX. Enjoy the MFG's. They are great.

Amazing quality, I love them
