Teapot Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Am I missing something, or can the campaign only be flown as a Russian pilot?
Finkeren Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 There are (IIRC) 4 'tutorial missions' that you're forced to do first. They take like 10 mins total, then you're free to go on flying any mission you like. 1
Finkeren Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 (edited) Just a word of caution if you haven't played the campaign before: Don't expect too much. There is very little historical framework around the missions, no squad to be part of and no pilots to follow. It is really less of a proper campaign and more of a highly advanced random mission generator. Understand that and you won't be disappointed and can enjoy the campaign for what it actually is. The missions can seem a little bland and under-populated at first, but they improve in scope and details as your pilot level rises (for me the missions really started to become interesting as I reached lvl 4 (which will happen quite fast) The individual flights are never bigger than 6 aircraft, but often times you'll meet other flights that just happen to be around and once in a while some fairly big fights of maybe 20 - 25 aircraft can develop. Once you get access to the ground support missions the ground war really comes alive with 50-100 ground units in the target area alone. You can have good fun with the campaign as long as you don't expect a detailed historical campaign or a career mode. Edited May 7, 2015 by Finkeren 1
