Bearcat Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 If you are a Standard user and want to upgrade or have been on the fence now is the time to buy ... Battle of Stalingrad Premium $49.99 Battle of Stalingrad Standard $29.99 La-5 $9.99 Fw-190 $9.99 1
Feathered_IV Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Thats good news. Especially as its a sale direct from 777. After all the recent tyre puns, I'd not want to be sending money to Valve. Valve. Geddit? Valve. Ugh, I'll see myself out... 2
FlatSpinMan Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I'd been trying to work that one in to the thread but hadn't managed to find a way.
Roo5ter Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Everyone please share the sale on social media and get the word out! Getting people in now would be great before they have two games to purchase to have all aircraft. Here's the link for your convenience - http://store.steampowered.com/app/307960/
361fundahl Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Finally I can afford the two "premium" planes lol..... How long till this is over? (I won't be home till much later today)
Potenz Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Shite and i have no money to buy the only plane that i don't own the La-5 1
=VARP=Cygann Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 (edited) Thats good news. Especially as its a sale direct from 777. After all the recent tyre puns, I'd not want to be sending money to Valve. Valve. Geddit? Valve. Ugh, I'll see myself out... Sale discounts and prices are in sync between the two, and also if 777 is not gaining profit from that partnership they would have never bothered going extra length to make it happen. So whatever version you guys use, get your planes now if you ever planed for it. Edited May 5, 2015 by EAF19_Cyclops
Finkeren Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Shite and i have no money to buy the only plane that i don't own the La-5 Gifted it to you. Check your license keys. 7
Potenz Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Gifted it to you. Check your license keys. WOW thanks mate, many mnay thanks you made my day 1
-NW-FourSpeed Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I'd ask why 777 is having a Moderator advertise an official sale in a General Discussion forum post, rather than having an appropriate topic in, say, the "Announcements" section, but clearly marketing savvy eludes me... In any case, GL with the sale... Cheers, 4 <salute>
Bearcat Posted May 5, 2015 Author Posted May 5, 2015 Well the answer to that would be that 1CGS did not "have me" do it .. I just saw the sale.. saw it was not posted and posted it.. That simple.. I'd ask why that would even be an issue.. Either you will buy it, have bought it, or didn't or won't.. What does where it gets posted have to do with anything at all.. ?
Finkeren Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 It was announced on Facebook though, and propably a few other places. Not announcing it here at their own forum does seem a bit weird, but the number of potential new customers they'd lose by not doing so is propably insignificant.

He said announce it in the EVENTS section not never announce it. The reason the moderator would put it here is because this is the only forum with any real visibility by the community as the rest is largely dead. The reason we find this interesting is because we get moderated and threads not supposed to be in General Discussion get pushed elsewhere which is insta-death for the thread. That being said, just glad it is getting more visibility and hopefully heavily shared.
Jester Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Well the sale snagged me finally. I'd put off buying since my PC is actually below min spec, but hopefully I'll be upgrading soon. Imagine my suprise and delight when I found Bos runs pretty well on this old pedal powered PC on balanced settings. Very impressed with it so far....... Even if I can't land to save my life!! Now I just need to find time to fit in occasionally sleeping in between RoF and BoS........... Oh and eat..... It may be a good idea to eat......... 2

Even the toughest pilots have to eat sometimes
Sgt_Joch Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 finally broke down and bought it also, can't say no to a 50% sale, now I just have to figure out how to fly them.
361fundahl Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 How? I went to buy last night and they were both $20.... I'm not paying extra $40 for something that should have been included in the game..... The F-4 and yak are probably the most fun to fly anyway....
wtornado Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Do not worry the sale will come back. They have to fix the FW-190 first according to many hehehe.

361fundahl Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 It was included in the game... Okay... Let me rephrase.... I'm locked out of a portion of the game that I paid for because I didn't pay $100 instead of $60....
Finkeren Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Okay... Let me rephrase.... I'm locked out of a portion of the game that I paid for because I didn't pay $100 instead of $60.... Yep. That's pretty much how it works, when you buy a game. When you pay full price, you get all the extra stuff, not so, when you choose the cheaper option.
361fundahl Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Yep. That's pretty much how it works, when you buy a game. When you pay full price, you get all the extra stuff, not so, when you choose the cheaper option. Hmmm... Every other game I've ever bought included all playable aspects in the "regular" price.... DCS is module based so that might be the closest comparison.... And I only have two of their modules for like $20.... Maybe less...
Finkeren Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 I'm a big fan of the Total War strategy games, and all their newer installments have come with DLCs containing new playable factions, new units etc. A lot of action games have DLCs that open new playable characters, levels and weapons. It's clearly not a unique concept. In BoS it's further highlighted, by having some of the premium planes being not directly associated with the battle itself. That goes for the Fw 190 in BoS and will apply to both premium planes in BoM.
Dakpilot Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Think of the 'poorly named' Premium as the standard full game and the cheaper "badly named' Standard as a budget option to get involved at a discount price...now you wont feel so bad Then pick up the missing content in a sale and you have the full game at a good discount Cheers Dakpilot 1
Bearcat Posted May 17, 2015 Author Posted May 17, 2015 Okay... Let me rephrase.... I'm locked out of a portion of the game that I paid for because I didn't pay $100 instead of $60.... No you aren't. You got exactly what you paid for and you knew that going in. You had the option to pick up the extra content at a discount price that you failed to take advantage of and now you want to complain about it. You knew it was a week long sale based on your post on the 5th.. A week later you come here complaining.. I don't know what to tell you. Hmmm... Every other game I've ever bought included all playable aspects in the "regular" price.... DCS is module based so that might be the closest comparison.... And I only have two of their modules for like $20.... Maybe less... Well if you have two DCS modules that you bought for $20 .. Maybe less.. then that means you either took advantage of a sale or you bought one of the three modules that sell for $10.... Modules by the way that are included in FC3 when it is on sale .. usually for under $10... All playuable aspects of BoS are there in the version of BoS that you chose to buy when you did .. and I see you are a founder so there have been several sales since the initial launch of BoS.. If you chose not to take advantage of any of those sales.. that is on you. Think of the 'poorly named' Premium as the standard full game and the cheaper "badly named' Standard as a budget option to get involved at a discount price...now you wont feel so bad Then pick up the missing content in a sale and you have the full game at a good discount Cheers Dakpilot Pretty much... Locking since the sale is now over.
