ANybody Experiencing Problems Running Mirrilis Action with BoS

Went to record a really rare event for posterity, me landing the 190 and 1) Not breaking the undercarriage 2) Being quick enough with differential brakes to stop ground looping

Anyway had not used Action for a while, and it upgraded, now running it crashes the installer and running after in game stops the game.

Methinks Mirrilis are to blame I seen a similar thing on their forum for Minecraft, same symptoms.

Just wondered good or bad if anybody is getting it to run Ok or is anybody getting what I'm getting?

I don't think mine craft is in this game?

Perhaps it should be Mein Kraft?

Anyway I did a bit of Googling around some more and discovered that there are issues with Action and Sweet FX which I was running. Disabled Sweet FX and Action runs fine.

I also tried DXtory to see if that was an alternative but much as I like the interface and the way it can be setup, much better for me than Action, the resulting video was noticeably choppier and broken in sections despite the game running at a solid 60FPS + and recording at a steady 30FPS when viewed it was still a bit stuttery.

Are you running an Nvidia graphics card, Monument?  If so, give ShadowPlay a whirl.

Thanks DD_Arthur, I have shadow play but I never seemed to get it to run on BoS

I'll give it another go and see if I can get it working.

One more thing that had me scratching my head for a while with Action, was 2 of the options for the frame counter. One was "Do not record HUD in games and application" - enabled and "Hide HUD on Action Startup" - disabled

When I recorded this way and viewed the result I always got the frame counter, however I then noticed, that when enabling the "Hide HUD on Action Startup" the same recorded video lost the HUD/Frame counter.

Then the penny dropped, it wasn't embedded in the video the frame counter was live, because Action was showing me the frame rate for the video I was watching. So when I closed down Action it disappeared...............talk about dopey :fool:

ShadowPlay won't work in windowed mode.  The game has to be running in full screen mode for ShadowPlay to work.

I run the game in windowed mode with SweetFX enabled, anti-aliasing and v-sync off and record all my flights with the in game track recorder.

If anything worth recording happens I restart the game in full screen with v-sync on - otherwise you get tearing - and view the track.  I can then hit ShadowPlay to make recordings.

These recordings I can then compress together in Windows movie-maker and save in high quality for uploading to YouTube if its worth it.

Last one I made;

DD_Arthur thanks very much for going to the trouble of explaining. That's why it won't work I run in windowed mode too, that's obviously why its not working. I cannot remember the reason for choosing the windowed mode but I do remember having some sort of issue when running full screen.

Like you I record any missions using the in-game recorder, as it allows multiple views when capturing to video later. I was enabling SweetFX when playing then disabling when running Action to record using the playback from the In-Game Recorder. Never occurred to me to run full screen and also many thanks for the tip on V-Synch. I also use an editor if making a movie, I have Premiere Elements (12 I think) and HitFilm which I use for other stuff, its far too pricey for just making in game movies, but it is great to use.

That movie you just posted up is very very good indeed too thanks for posting it & I wish I could land the 190 as effectively as you (I bounce all over the show and more often than not end up ground looping)
