Graphic settings explained

Hi All. I have just a few questions regarding Graphic settings, having not changed the settings I would say that the following are all defaults ?

Can you advise with regards,   fps Limiter  = 60 [ can i safely alter this with my high end 970 card installed ? ]

                                                 antialasing = 4 [?]

                                                 gamma correction = 08 [ slider will not go any lower, I read one post which said that this would be corrected with the latest upgrade, it does not ?

Also what is and for what purpose is the Noise filter [ 0.15 ]  joystick setting

Res = 1920 x 1080

graphic card = GTX 970 = graphics set to ultra

Cheers. :salute:

Yes to vsync  and and if you can't change the gamma settings in the menu, change them via the startup config in the data folder. 0.70000 to 0.60000 is a good setiing IMHO

If you're using an NVidia card (which you are...):

  • Don't use full screen. Use window mode set to the resolution of your display.
  • Don't use vsync but do set a frame limit.

You will actually get degraded performance using full screen/vsync in both BOS and ROF. I am not sure why this is the case.

Do you use vsync in the Nvidia control panel?

I'll have to give windowed mode a shot.

Thanks. I use full screen and with a 970 card i get no degrading, BoS runs fine, but what limit is there with frame rate settings when using a high end card ? I suppose it's a matter of trial and error !

What path do I follow to find " BoS start up config so I can change my gamma settings.      Cheers.

I upgraded a 770 to 970 and didn't get much of a performance boost, sadly its quite CPU limited

I use vsync without any issues.

From memory, BoS/data/startup.cfg and change gamma from 0.8 to either 0.7 or 0.6 and save. Try both and see what one you prefer.
