II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 So, My schedule has changed and my primary day to fly is on Tuesdays now. My prefered Normal server is usually up on my non-dedicated days but seems to be locked up (not full) and in need of a reset on my available mornings. This typically lasts for hours and I lose the day I could be enjoying the game. I know, fly expert. I know but I enjoy the quick action more for the moment. I'm still learning the, "dogfight," and have reasonable success in the BNZ on expert servers. Also doing a lot more mud moving which seems mostly the same on either type of server. All in good time my man. How hard is it to reset the server? I realize they can't have an admin 24/7 and our time zones are nearly opposite but the lockups seem to be pretty consistent during MY primetime hours. If I volunteered to be an admin or they found someone they trusted in NA to be online in the morning/early afternoon hours, is it pretty simple? Read my sig for my technical expertise.
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted April 22, 2015 Author Posted April 22, 2015 Should have posted on the main page m'thinks.
StG2_Manfred Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 (edited) For our squadron I already wrote a little program which continously check whether dserver.exe is still properly running. If a crash occours it close the open process completely and then restart the server, all fully automatically. It is also possible to run multiple instances on the same Windows as it can differ and correctly recognise the processes. So no manual action is necessary if something goes wrong. Right now the labels in this tool are all in German, but I could translate them to English if someone want to test and use it. Attached is a picture of the tool (still with German labels)... PS: Creating a permanent logfile is already on my to-do list. Edited April 22, 2015 by StG2_Manfred 2
