Doogerie Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Now let me first of all say i have 100% faith in the devlopment team. I know there work is good but I am hestent about pre ordering. The last two games I pre orderd have been have been shell we say not as good as they could have been (IL2: COD, Rome 2). So I have been burnt recently. So I was wondering should i wait until realeas next year or man up and just pre order? I just don't wan't to be buned again.
Feathered_IV Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 If you're as interested in the journey as the destination, by all means preorder I reckon. If you are more interested in a final product and don't mind waiting it may be better to hang on for the official release version.
Matt Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 (edited) Yes you should . I'm usually skeptical and rarely if ever preorder anything. I bought CloD for a relatively low price and decided to skip Rome 2, but preordered BoS almost immediately and i'm confident i made the right decision. I think the future potential for this sim is immense. Edited October 11, 2013 by Matt
Bearcat Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Ask yourself how much you think the sim will cost once it is released. Download RoF if you have not already and try it. Ask yourself if you think the team that put that together could product a decent WW2 product. Then ask yourself how soon you would like to start fiddling with said product and decide on what you are willing to pay for that if. at all and act accordingly.
VeryOldMan Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Depend on how much you trust. I would have never pre ordered ROme 2 (because I know what that producer has made to the series ). But sicne this is goign to be somethign like a ww2 ROF, i can predict that is very likely going to make me happy. Specially if the beta come s before my vacations end
FlatSpinMan Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 I dunno. Are you quite keen on getting a first look at a combat flight sim over Stalingrad? Do you have fifty - ninety bucks to spare? If so, by all means have a try. Otherwise, wait six months and buy the final version.
Doogerie Posted October 11, 2013 Author Posted October 11, 2013 if it's onley 6 month away i will hold on till march then i am shour it will be a really good sim.(can't be much worse then cliffs of dover really can it?)
messer79 Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 if it's onley 6 month away i will hold on till march then i am shour it will be a really good sim.(can't be much worse then cliffs of dover really can it?) I've installed a mod for CoD and I enjoy that game now. OK. Sometimes it hangs, audio of guns loops, frame rate is to low but though these vices I like playing it. I play it on a laptop, so I don't have a sophisticated eqiupment.
SR-F_Winger Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 YES! Definately!!! Gain the foundergoodies and get early access. Besides you help the devteam finance the project and also its an investment in the future of WWII simming.
ST_ami7b5 Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Grab it! Winter's coming... you know... those long evenings...
Adebar Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Support is needed on all fronts for this genre. I would not squander a second to do so and will put all my trust in this production.
Doogerie Posted October 11, 2013 Author Posted October 11, 2013 well it has been offerd as a xmas present so i will have 3 month befor realese to hone my skills a a moving targit for you guys I get shot down ALOT online but I do love online play
J2_Trupobaw Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 (edited) Search your feelings .Do you want us to help justify that preordering won't be a bad decision? Go preorder, you know you want to . You want to make sure you spend your money to best effect? Wait and see. Edited October 11, 2013 by Trupobaw
Trident_109 Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 (edited) How much do gamers/simmers spend on other games? Premium PS3 and XBOX 360 games go for about $60.00 and IMO they don't have anywhere near the longevity of flight sims. For me it was an easy decision once I saw some of Hooves' video previews from the California show. Knowing the work 777 puts out, I feel very confident that we will get a fully functional piece of software upon retail release. I could be wrong, but when BoS is released for retail I don't think it will be the $89.00 premium members paid. It just doesn't make sense to me that they'd ask the same price for the same game and not have the same features (or why there would currently be a two tier system of advanced purchase). Instead we are paying to have early access and a portion of our monies goes toward funding the product. If you are fine with that, then I can't see not pre-paying to have the game. VeryOldMan Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 It probably will cost more than the silver version. LEss than the gold version that give us the almighty fw190
=BKHZ=Furbs Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Remember, if you pre-order the premium version that is soon to enter beta, your not getting the full sim(yet), it is a testing early access version that will not have the full plane set and not all features. These aircraft and features will be added as they are finished by the developers. Something to think about before you pre-order. If you want the full sim, then i suggest you wait, if you want to help the developers test and iron out bugs and have a great time playing early, then pre-order right now
All_Apologies Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 (edited) I bought the premium because I love 777, 1C and F190s. Even though there have been bumps in the road ie CLoD (which is a good game just not epic) or RoF (imo a couple planes that perform a little to well) they have produced great sims and I have poured a lot of hours into them. So in the end I am sure that Battle of Stalingrad is going to be well worth the money especially if they can fit in some sort of dynamic campaign or a career mode eventually. With that said I CANT WAIT FOR EARLY ACCESS!!!! =p Edited October 11, 2013 by Heresy
bjsracer Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 I pre-ordered, as I have no life outside of my PC that I feel the need to waste my $$$ on, to support one of my favorite genres. :D
=BKHZ=Furbs Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Nice one, remember to activate it and get your nice gold bar.
dburne Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 I not only pre-ordered the Premium of BOS, I then proceeded to support DCS WWII in their Kickstarter campaign. First time I have ever done both of these things - pre-order a sim, and contribute to a kickstarter effort. But did it stop there? Welll, nooo not excactly. I then decided, well since I am enjoying ROF and Cliffs of Dover now with the TF mod and finally understand CEM and full realism, I decided hey it is time to go ahead and build a new system - I am a little overdue anyway, so now I am spending a serious sum in gathering components together for the new build I will be doing between now and end of the year. I mean, what better reason right? Dang, this flight simming thing can get pricey!
Rjel Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 if it's onley 6 month away i will hold on till march then i am shour it will be a really good sim.(can't be much worse then cliffs of dover really can it?) I think there might be a compliment in that sentence somewhere.
FlatSpinMan Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Yay! You're in Bangkok? Local, or expat? I pre-ordered, as I have no life outside of my PC that I feel the need to waste my $$$ on, to support one of my favorite genres. :D You and me both.:-) Welcome aboard.
Karost Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 I just upgrade from standard to premium we know it take 6 month , I /( we ) have been play IL2 release for over 10 years but I /(we) like to support this developer team directly . I don't want to see this sim turn to be sim+arcate game because of marketing reason . 6 month of develper payroll they still need support to make a "real good sim" for people who need to play it. This is your chance :
Karost Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 (edited) Hi FlatSpinMan,Bangkok is the capital city of Thailand and I stay in the middle of the city Edited October 12, 2013 by karost
LLv34_Flanker Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 S! Definitely order it. What devs have shown so far has been VERY convincing and 777 Studios have a good track record of making sims as the 1C team joining them in this effort. The more we get support the more likely we get more expansions and oh boy would that be a treat! Also a good "scapegoat" to upgrade my hardware
Yob Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 (edited) I'm with you on getting burnt on Rome II ....... although I was sort of expecting it due to almost every other title of theirs being crap at launch...... However I think you came to the wrong place to ask your question..lol... of course you should pre-order it....we the choir say gleefully... Edited October 12, 2013 by Yob
