Finkeren Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Keeping the honoured tradition of F5-day alive, what do you expect from todays DD? My predictions: Preliminary changelog for 1.011 Screens of I-16 in flight More exact news on when we can expect the first summer map to come out
ST_ami7b5 Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 (edited) Here you are: OK, let's Edited April 17, 2015 by Ami
-TBC-AeroAce Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Lol loving that video clip above. Not sure it's out today but I can hope to be shooting at ju52s later xd
Finkeren Posted April 17, 2015 Author Posted April 17, 2015 No, Ace. No update today. Zak made it perfectly clear, that they're not releasing updates on fridays anymore. All I expect is a DD.
6./ZG26_Emil Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 I'd like to see more of the old Q&A discussion type updates. It would be nice to hear from them how they see the progression of the sim in other areas than just more planes/maps.
Feathered_IV Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 New campaign, mods-on mode and AI that can say more than, "Hello, attacking, it's close!" would be nice.
Finkeren Posted April 17, 2015 Author Posted April 17, 2015 Would indeed Feathered. But apart from mods-on, which I do believe will come at some point, you'd better not hold your breath.
Spacesheep Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 I would indeed keep hoping that the campaign could get some big attention in the future. Just saw an exchange in the Q&A thread about a java script extra support proposed to Jason.... could this be a first step.... http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/7-questions-developers/page-29?do=findComment&comment=250545 cross fingers
361fundahl Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Was there any available helicopter used during WWII?
-TBC-AeroAce Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Was there any available helicopter used during WWII? Yup there was a fair few used by both sides. They came into being around 1933
361fundahl Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Wow I had no idea. I've ridden in an old bell bubble helicopter before with a flat 6 mounted vertical as the motor... Very smooth, like magic carpet. It would be SUPER fucking awesome if we had some helicopters in IL2!!!
Finkeren Posted April 17, 2015 Author Posted April 17, 2015 I do not know of any choppers actually being used on the Eastern Front. I think only the U.S employed a significant number of helicopters in active service during WW2.
361fundahl Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Yeah I mean honestly I don't care about eastern front, western front, etc. For me I just want to see IL2 as a big playground for various aircraft to show their flight modeling and damage modeling. You should be able to set vehicle filters for servers to "even" the playing field. It is cool though to have a campaign mode that somewhat shows the history though. I appreciate the time that goes into making good cut scenes too.
=362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 It's about to happen, previous dev diary is no longer locked to the top of page. F5 F5 F5 guys
-TBC-AeroAce Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Lufwaf used them quite a lot for the rescue of downed pilots on the eastern front. The Germans were actually one of the leaders for autogyros in the period
A-E-Hartmann Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Yes ,devs log 95 .forward to seeing the news .
Finkeren Posted April 17, 2015 Author Posted April 17, 2015 Lufwaf used them quite a lot for the rescue of downed pilots on the eastern front. The Germans were actually one of the leaders for autogyros in the period Are you sure about that AeroAce? The only German true helicopter I know of that would be able to perform search-and-rescue missions would be the Fa 223 Drache, and there were only a dozen or so in service and they were IIRC mainly used in the Alps. The only other German true helicopter to see extensive service that I know of was the Fl 282 but that was single seat only and had a very low carrying capacity. I think it was only used for short range reconaissance and artillery spotting. Also: Autogyros are not helicopters, even though they're classified as rotorcraft.
-TBC-AeroAce Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 (edited) I pretty sure I heard of that on Discovery channel but after doing some research Its not looking too likely. But they deffo had them and seems like the Germans were quite advance with them Edited April 17, 2015 by AeroAce
