Finkeren Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Not really much of a car fan myself, but I've always loved Talbot Lagos late 1930s teardrop design:
voncrapenhauser Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 (edited) Too many favourites to choose from for me sorry. The Lincoln Futura above became the 1960's TV Batmobile. A Toss up between that and the 1989 Keaton Batmobile with its Vulcan auxiliary generator as its intake.. Edited April 14, 2015 by voncrapenhauser
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 As a nostalgian I love any old car of the pre 1960s. My absolute favourite however is the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado (the one and ONLY car I even like in pink!) It's just gorgeus no matter how you look at it

Right now the 340 is under the kitchen table waiting to be rebuilt ..thus work in progress. Way back in the cave man days when we were in high school me and my friends we all into the cars from the 60s and early 70s. Now that I have a little cash on hand I can finally do one. The Dart is a favorite of mine because lots of people will say something like "My mom had one of those" or "Grama had one" Then they look at a hot one and they're stunned at how good they look and how fast they are because they're so light. Forgive the guys language this Duster has a stroked 340. You can see the power you can get out of them Edited April 16, 2015 by II./JG27_Rich
II./JG27_Rich Posted April 16, 2015 Author Posted April 16, 2015 Just want to add something else..Some people just turn into stupid mode around cool cars. I've seen it time and time again

I now have a 1400cc Nissan note sadly . Had a few fast European cars in the past (Renault Clio 172 Exclusive , 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds only 172 built), my fastest, but have always had a soft spot for American Muscle cars. Here's my little Clio European Porsche performance I had a few years back, too light a car TBH for 172bhp, it was scary sometimes. Edited April 16, 2015 by voncrapenhauser
=LD=Penshoon Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Of course my own car is my fav! She might be a bit girly (something that old men at gas stations love to remind me about) but I don't care , I bought it for myself and I love it 1 1

Well voncrapenhauser us old car fans have to face facts that these cars are never going to handle like modern cars do although there are after market suspension kits that vastly improve the handling and braking. There's noting more fun to drive though. No automatic gizmos so you have to pay attention. Especially if you still have drum brakes all the way around. Don't tailgate!!! Also it's laughable how easy these old things are to work on and how cheap parts are. I bought a fuel pump a while ago..$35 took 15 minutes to put it on. Edited April 16, 2015 by II./JG27_Rich
361fundahl Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 I'm just waiting to stuff a cammed ls3 or 2 into my 300zx... (Z32) I have 1995 Audi s6, 2005 Wrangler Rubicon and Yamaha fz1 as well... My wife drives a 1990 miata that was only $900 and we drive the shit out of it... So many great vehicles! 1
361fundahl Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Wow you guys are badass! We need to meet up for off road if I can ever afford it. Y'all ever been to the AirVenture show?
II./JG27_Rich Posted April 17, 2015 Author Posted April 17, 2015 I have a classic little old lady Dart story. Over the years I've seen this lady who's in her 70s driving this 71 Dart around the town where I life. One day I pump into her at coopers and say to her great cars arn't they Oh the best she replies and You can take it for a drive if you wash it for me......LOLOLOL I thought we were back in the 40s for a moment Then she tells me how everyone is bothering her about her car and she doesn't get why, even a policeman gave me his number she says. Umpteen other people also. So I try to explain to her what was so cool about her car. We chatted for about 10 minutes in the coopers parking lot. Now I'm starting to run into her once and a while at the A&W so I'm going to print this pic out and keep it in the car to have handy when I run into her again so I can say....See..That's why those guys are after you
Trident_109 Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Lust. That camera work is fantastic. They did a great job of showcasing that Jaguar.
6./ZG26_Custard Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Lust. An absolute classic of the 1960's, It was a real testament to the E that when it was first released Enzo Ferrari called it The most beautiful car ever made.

Mastermariner Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 When it comes to cars, not fans, this is the ultimate machine. I once had a 911 E I can only say I regret that I sold it.
C-Bag Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Although I always wanted the Porshe 550 Spyder in my pic above, the one I miss was my first car. 1957 Karman Ghia like this: It was rear ended and totaled. I turned around and bought a cherry '65 that only had 40kmi. for $400. Those were the days <sigh>
