coconut Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Hi, Just a small message to report that it seems that DServer works fine with wine on Mac OS. My old Mac mini that was collecting dust just got a new life! Of course, the Core2 duo proc is not the fastest, but for small missions I hope it will be enough. From memory, here are the steps to follow: Install wineskin. Probably works with other distributions, but that's the one I'm using. Create a new empty wrapper. On your MS Windows PC, zip the data/ and bin/game directories, copy them to your Mac. On the Mac, right-click on the wrapper in Finder (it's under your home/Applications/Wineskin, IIRC), choose "show content". Unzip the data and game archives, respecting the original tree structure (bos/data and bos/bin/game). Run Wineskin.app that is at the root of your wrapper (inside the wrapper). Set dserver.exe as the exe to run (in the first text box, at the top). In the tools tab, pick winetricks, install dll/vcrun2008. Do a test run, the server GUI should pop up. I haven't tried, but I suppose it should work on Linux too. That makes it an interesting option for hosting. So far, I've only flown about 30min to test it, but everything worked normally.
Guinamo Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 OK on linux its not starting. Can you make a tutorial or better video tutorial for installing this on linux wine??
Nick_R Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 (edited) @cocunut did you have any issues with stats not working? I've got the DServer to run perfectly as well and it was actually quite simple except for getting that stats to work. @=PN=Guinamo I'll probably make a tutorial for Linux this weekend. I'll probably post at the following thread: Edited February 6, 2019 by Nick_R
coconut Posted February 6, 2019 Author Posted February 6, 2019 This was in 2015 and the game was 32bit back then. No problem with the stats
Guinamo Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Ok after big battle its working. Now i have problem with BoS.LogParser.Offline.exe but its only to recompile and it should be working

No problem with the stats It might actually still work if you use the method of copying it over since the launcher is what needs .NET 4. I'm not sure DServer needs .NET 4. If it doesn't it would work to use wine-mono instead of .NET 4, but wine-mono and .NET 4 can't both be in the same wine prefix.
Querky1231 Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 Happy to see someone else out here trying to run on Linux! I was hoping to set up a DServer on a VM linux box, but it looks like that probably isn't an option. Is the DServer.exe the only way to run a server? I thought I might be able to go so far as to configure a Docker container that would make spinning up new servers much easier for new players.
