I found that I could open a quick mission in the editor and looked to convert it to MP. Is there a quick way to do this. There is a single spawn point that can be changed from player. Then there are many check zones which are not supposed to be used for MP.

I wanted to make some quick training missions for my squad and thought this could be a way to generate a suite of mission to cycle through using Dserver

I am also interested in the answer of the above.

~S~ Jacko and KDN,

Firstly, you'll need to change the Mission Type to "Deathmatch", that is the only mode that works for Multiplayer, disregard all others, as they are an artifact of Rise of Flight.

Next, you'll need to find the Icon for the Player plane. Delete that for it will not work (select it then, Delete Button on Keyboard). You might just also need to change it to an AI of some level...

This gets complicated to relate very quickly... sorry that..

Next you'll need to set up an Airfield somewhere.

You can choose a few options in that, too many to explain in depth here. Fakefield (Line Abreast) or fakefield rnwyspawn (Line Abreast and Columned), Airstarts are possible, .etc, .etc

Save what you've done (Save As) into the Multiplayer Dogfight Folder of BoS. Give it  unique name, do not overwrite stock files as you get further into this later on...(i.e. new Single Missions)...

Mind you there is a ton more of things to consider like the difference of MCU's, .etc and how they operate, or don't, between single mission and deathmtach environments.

In a nut shell, it' way too much to explain in a forum thread. so don't expect good results from the get go. If it were easy everyone would be doing it sorta thing/ and I apologize for that.

When BoS ME was first released, I did this very same thing taking a Single Mission named "Ghosts in the Snow", converted it to MP, and had a Snowing MP mission even though the weather option...

for doing so was broken at the time. You can still find and download that Mission, I called it "Hosts in the Snow" ;) and you can gather what I've explained by comparing them both I should hope.

Setting Up a Dserver to make use of this stuff is a whole nother aspect of this, which someone else has recently posted about elsewhere.

Glad to have you guys interested in Mission Writing because it is my primary love and interest within this hobby, and the more the merrier we always reiterate. Again, sorry for the brevity of this reply.

~S~ Guys,

And um no, you cannot convert the QMG stuff into Multiplayer that I know of. Can't say anything further as it's hush-hush.

Only convert Single or Campaign (Nearly impossible as well at this point), or, start from scratch (Much easier and preferred).

I think it is appropriate to ask this question here instead of making a new thread but please correct me.

Here it goes:

Is it possible to have AI planes flying and attacking opposition, human players or not in a Dogfight mission setup ( have a player respawn airfield with selection of planes e.t.c)

All I need is a confirmation either way, I will figure it out from there.

Jupp, I looked into  your "Good buy Blue Sky" series.

Excellent examples of a lot of things you can do in BoS editor, and from the little real time check that I did in a dedicated environment, they seem that they are going to be a lot of fun to fly in.

Between the RoF editor manual, Bob Vanderstok videos and your missions, I think I got all I need to get things going. :)

Thank you!!

~S~ KDN,

I should have done a better Read-Me and introductory posts, but meh.

Features you'll find in those examples include :

-Spotlights respawn after being destroyed, a couple times.

-Ai that are defeated, trigger the next model of Ai in their place

 Yak1 --> Lagg3 --> La5 and 109g --> 109f4 --> fw190

-He111's and Pe2's level bomb the airfields, defend themselves, then land at appropriate airfields, some taxi as well afterward

-Ju87s and IL-2s dive bomb or strafe ground targets, or certain areas of the airfields appropriately and defend themselves, .etc

-Flak batteries, AAA guns, and certain ground targets work very effectively, seemingly in concert, and not so killer as to be annoying

-Fires are logic chained together for efficiency, as also examples of landing lights, and air raid sirens, a moving truck, moving soldiers...

There is, as you've seen, many things going on with a neatness of work that should be easy to study, replicate, or use in other missions.

Glad that you've joined in enjoy the process,

Supreme Air Commander and Armchair General
