Geralt Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 ... and another one - I use the MS-Sidewinder FFB2 joystick in combination with the Saitek-X45- throttle. An excellent combination I have in use for years now, Started it on the original IL2 sim. Normally on all Sims I can configure one of the 2 little wheels on the x-45 for elevator trim up and down. Here it does not work the elevator trim does not seem to work at all (at least not on the BF-109) you can assign these wheels in the configuration part and it tells you that they are assigned but it does not seem to have any effect, you always have to push the stick forward if you dont want your nose to go straight up. The 2nd issue is about the AI planes that should take off with me and cover me. They dont do anything no matter what order I give them, they just stay on the runway and get shot at by enemy planes. By the way, I have the latest version of the game update ..(1.010 I think it is). Is this all considered as normal or will there be a change in another update ? If it goes on like that, I think I´m gonna reinstall the old IL2-1946 and all the previous ones, they were way better than this here ! If that is what they call the technical development of next gen flightsims ... no more comment ...
Dakpilot Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 My trims all working, there are three different button assignments for trim, check you have the right ones 109 is the only one to work with an axis I believe, do the AI do the same if you leave it on autopilot? Cheers Dakpilot
Bearcat Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I do not believe trims work on an axis here.. although I hope that eventually they will... that aircraft that had trim on a wheel will get it. I here ya about that X-45 MSFFB2 combo.. a great match.. I used to use that.. now I use a MSFFB2/ X-52 setup I modded the stick though..

Geralt Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 if the MS FFB2 and the X52 work also together, great ! Hope I get it also working once my X-45 shouldnt work anymore. Looks somehow cool your construction By the way, the AI does the same when on autopilot ... well ... I just needed to let some steam out of my "frustration-boiler" concerning this sim ... never mind, actually it doesent bother me that much. Each time I find something new that is frustrating, I simply quit flying this sim again for some months until I forget about it ... complaints wont change a thing anyway I know ...
Dakpilot Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 However a well constructed bug report of genuine issues helps everyone Cheers Dakpilot

BTW - This command with axis will work only for these two planes, for all others include that "Fw-190" is need use keys or joy buttons for adjust trim or stabilizer angle.
Geralt Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 Hey Sokol1 thanks for that hint, I´ll try that
Geralt Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 Thanks Sokol1 I tried it and it works on the BF-109 ! Too bad it doesent work for all the planes (but that would probably be too much expected .... sarcasm out) Thanks again for the hint !

What do you use the former joystick part of the X52 to control now?
Bearcat Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 All depends on the sim... landing gear, drop tanks, lights, radiator, the blue knob is rudder trim.. various stuff. I am still mapping it all out for BoS and DCS.. but IL2 is pretty well mapped.. Just about every function is on my sticks..
