I just wish it had 3 x UBS 12.7mm guns instead of the 1 x 12.7mm and 2 x 7.7mm. Other thank that just look at her!!!

I never noticed before, but that is an interesting gear door mechanic.  I found some other pictures, and it looks like it is a very reasonable design if you expect to be operating places where nobody has put in a bunch of effort to build a nice runway and it might be really cold, slushy, icy, muddy, etc.

S! Must have been hard to land with no visibility and those short landing gear. The prop would be real close to the ground on takeoff with the tail up. Three point landing?

Yeh they look very sexy indeed, long nose and sleek lines. For me they are the coolest looking Soviet fighter of the war.

I know man it looks like a racing plane. I was playing Full Real in War Thunder and I was able to achieve 310 mph (498 kph) at 4500m

But nobody likes to be  sited behind of  the center of gravity.

I always remember the  inclined seat of the BF 109 for resist more  Gs,  for the pilot, like an  F 16
