No.132_Jurk Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 (edited) I have always been suspect whether or not this game has rudder braking implemented at all. When I put the rudder in full right or left it will have little to no effect on my air speed. So, do the game indeed feature the correct physics or is there something totally wrong? 1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Yes i noticed it too, by increasing the drag with cross controlls i don't see much speed lost.
wellenbrecher Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 This is central to my problems with landing. I've gotten so used to fine-tuning my speed on approach and final via yaw over the years that it throws me off completely when it has no appreciable effect here.
Primus_71 Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Yep. Forward slipping does not work in BOS. If I remember correctly, it did not work in RoF either. In my opinion, this is an important omission, as it is a fundamental maneuver.
=LD=Penshoon Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 I'm so puzzled by threads like these. Side slipping works for me and I use it regularly to quickly reduce my alt when coming in for landings.

It works. On some airplanes better than on others, but works on all of them. The problem is between the screen and keyboard, as usual.
Primus_71 Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 It works. No it does not. Or at least, not nearly as effectively as it should. When you forward slip, you should sink like a rock without gaining speed, which is not the case in BoS. Agree on problem being the player in most cases. Not in this case though. It is working in ROF They fixed it then. Hopefully, they'll fix it here as well.
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 (edited) It only works somewhat for certain aircrafts in RoF. I own quite a bunch and can assure it does not work for all of them. The same accounts for planes in BoS. In my opinion the russian fighters are the best "slippers" ingame. Especially the Yak does a decent job at it. German aircraft however still suffer from insufficient yaw-angles and weird overdone roll induction once rudder is used. Don't get your hopes too high though, issue is known since Alpha. So you have your screen in front of you and your keyboard behind of you? Some here are even not able to be properly impolite and want to tell others what is right or wrong - great post!
