Nice!

We're gonna need a mods section soon.

Thanks BC that's what we needed.

I have been running the BOS launcher permanently for the last 3 days and in the last 24 hours a lot more people have joined it, unfortunately they tend to leave soon after.

If people read this I hope they would consider keeping the software running during the time you are flying. Sure at first it might seem pointless as barely anyone is on it but it would be a good start if we had most people who are online logged on to it. Eventually we could get to the point where we can advertise co-op type missions rather than trying to arrange them on the forum.

The launcher is very light so shouldn't affect the game performance and it also has a cool feature where it will launch TIR for you if you forget so you never have that annoyance of having to log off the game to fire it up.

It's not Hyperlobby but it's better than nothing

...another sub-forum. This place doesn't get enough traffic to warrant so much segmentation. The majority of people only go to general discussion and that's it. I've explained this many times over, why it's so hard to comprehend and act on the fact that casual visitors don't go to the subforums is beyond me.

I don't see what the problem is.

Perhaps if there had not been such an intense effort to trash this sim, it's developers and it's forum etc etc etc when it was first released there would be more traffic here..

Who knows.. I don't.

What I do know is that this sim will grow and that everything cannot fit on the first page... I also know that when new people do come here, when old hats come back, or when regulars come and as time goes by and more 3rd party stuff gets made for this sim folks need to find it in one place and not go all around Dick's hatband to find stuff..  hence a utilities sub forum.

Yes, I understand that you don't see what the problem is...no one goes to subforums...that is the problem. It doesn't matter that there's a utilities subforum now, the majority only gravitate to the general discussion forum. If admins want community tools to be found they'd clean up the stickied threads that are up right now and have them replaced with guides, missions, groups, and 3rd party tools (skin collection apps, BoS launcher, IL2 Commander). The "BoS on steam" thread should have been deleted months ago, questions for developers thread should be in the suggestions subforum since there doesn't seem to be much effort in addressing any questions in it, BoS teamspeak thread/info can be made as a header in the general discussion forum, game version thread doesn't need to be sticky since it will change every month or so.

This is remedial stuff that has a huge impact on the economy of the game. Many people asking for co-op and hyperlobby function don't know about BoS launcher...people complaining about skin unlocks don't know about SkinSync or the 777 dev created skin collector...these are tools that have been made, free of charge, that have functionality that will generate tons of revenue and popularity if they just had exposure. Shoving things into subforums here is not exposure.

Josh,

I hope to re-arrange the forums to better entice 3rd party folks to help out and build awareness of certain tools.

You may not like sub-forums but things must be segregated otherwise it gets too confusing. I've dealt with this before with ROF and made things better.

I have other plans too, but time and resources always slow me down. With original IL-2 much was done by the community to solve such issues. They not only would build cool content and apps, but also build distribution methods. Sadly this doesn't really happen anymore and it falls on us to distribute 3rd party content.

Good to know. I hope the new changes come soon!

Bear. in mind that BoS has jst now got a slot at M4T. M4T has been instrumental in being that place for IL2. There was never a lot at UBI...

The forums are going to be re-arranged and simplified. There will be a special section for 3rd Party tools, apps and content hat is much easier to find than what we have now. Coming soon.
