We did not aim to make a 100% copy of the grip. We have adapted this grip to more convenient control for flight simulators. We made the first sample for testing internal layout of the handle. The production grip will be made of aluminum alloy, this sample was in plastic. It's faster and cheaper. Button caps, the lower trigger, wheel brakes lever will be made for the second prototype. On the sample we applied the original ribbed handle. Corrugation will be performed directly on the molds. A little bit about the grip. Since the trigger is a kind of lever that sends to the button a quite lot of effort, we have developed a special double spring system button. The first spring provides loading force to the button, the second is only for transmission to the clock button (150 grams). We use Japanese components, a trigger is a button with a resource of 1 000 000 clicks. The button rod made of steel, runs in a linear bearing with 40 balls inside. Trigger spring loaded ball detent. The special shape trigger, which is in contact with a lock, allows to fix the trigger in three positions: - Safety (trigger thrown back to top button, blocking it) - Military (trigger folded down over the "trigger button") - Intermediate (trigger folded forward, pressing the "trigger" button is not possible, but the top button is accessible) We gave up on the trigger spring. Tests have shown that when tilting the trigger has all chances to get a heavy metal hammer on the nail, if you do not remove your finger from the time. It's hurt. In the real world pilots flew in gloves, they were not hurt. We have implemented the effect of "spring" ball lock. He presses the trigger time (in different positions in different ways) not allowing the trigger "hang" on the axis and at the same time "does not disperse" trigger. On top spot, we marked out the top button 8-way HAT with depression. Added left button - this is another HAT with depression. The left side button housing has adjust of inclination angle. Button under the little finger will be equipped with a small trigger, providing rapid access to the buttons. In real life, the pilot took his hand down to press the button, losing access to the upper buttons. Thus, the grip will have 12 buttons, all in the operational availability (for comparison, the grip Cobra has 15 buttons). At the same look as the original pen with 4 buttons. The hole at the bottom of the handle on the left side is for installation of the optional module of wheel brake lever with MaRS (sensor). Hole on the right is intended for installation of the module adjustable palm rest. If the module is not installed, the hole will be closed. The handle will be available in two variants - for installation on joysticks Mamba (King Cobra) or Trastmaster Warthog (Cougar). New mount knob lets you adjust the angle of rotation of the grip. The estimated price will be around $ 200-250. 1
Sokol1 Posted April 13, 2015 Author Posted April 13, 2015 (edited) The "trigger" over the pinkie button, is possible fold forward 70 degrees, in safety position. Consider this "trigger" as a "field mod". There will be an more "historic" option, without the trigger. Edited April 13, 2015 by Sokol1 1

Bando Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 When will this be available to order (for the Warthog base).
Sokol1 Posted May 16, 2015 Author Posted May 16, 2015 (edited) A nice addition to this grip will be had a internal switch to mimic DCS Bf 109 K-4, Fw 190 D-9 "Guns Safety Lever" (default LShift+Space): So, when the KG-12 trigger is bent upward, the switch send a signal for the game flip the virtual trigger and commanding the ""Guns Safety Lever" function without need press a additional key or button, and same for bend downward. The "hadcore vipilov" will love this. People that make DIY grips for Ka-50 add this functionality. Edited May 16, 2015 by Sokol1 1
Sokol1 Posted May 31, 2015 Author Posted May 31, 2015 Prototype, not the final model. 2º prototype, the buttons cap will be redesigned for more "vintage" look. http://forum.il2sturmovik.ru/uploads/monthly_05_2015/post-979-0-03097500-1433048828.jpg http://forum.il2sturmovik.ru/uploads/monthly_05_2015/post-979-0-93121400-1433048816.jpg The buttons caps/color will be remade, for more "vintage" look. 1
Sokol1 Posted July 16, 2015 Author Posted July 16, 2015 (edited) Seems this is the final form of Kg-12 grip: The top buttons are 8 position HAT + central click. Edited October 5, 2019 by Sokol1
