Ill test this evening and will write a little review later on.

One info: If youre interested in such a set. They are left available at i-jetpilot.com by a limited amount (5 or so). Pricepoint is 790,- €. Let me tell you one thing. Even without having them tested i can say that the quality alone is well worth the money and, just like the Schreinerschmidt KG20 was the last stick in my life that i had to buy, this will be the last set of rudderpedals i had to buy:)  They are built by the famous german simpit builder Schreinerschmidt who AFAIK stopped developing sim cockpits and now is selling the remaining stock at the above mentioned website.

If you buy one greet Stefan from me:)

They look lovely Winger.

Didn't you have Crosswind pedals?

If so, can you compare these?

You have quite a collection already.

Thumbs up to you....

Aye i have the crosswinds. Sold to a squadmate. I will be comparing them.

But the Schreiners are far more durable. Not quite as adjustable but at least as accurate. Both have hall sensors.

Ill write a little more once ive tested them.

Look great , congrats and happy flying time. I ain;t got some pedals at the moment I have to cut budget since spent quite a few to get back to the flying sims.

OK, here is some news. Firstly i think i have to correct my statement from above. By saying "...the Schreiners are far more durable" I preactically said the MFGs are less. Thats not true since the MFGs didnt suffer in any way from the day i received them up until today. The were in practically mint condition when i sold them to my mate.

I should have rather said "The Schreiners make a more durable impression due to the used material".

Now tro the pedals itself.

Accuracy: The Schreiner Pedals have all Hall sensors as well. However the resolution of them is quite a bit below the ones of the Crosswinds.

Schreiner sensors have 1024 RAW positions. I think the Crosswinds have a multiple of that. I cannot tell any practical nagative sideeffects of the lower resolution in standard simusage up until today but more is always better - right? :). I consider upgrading the hallsensors in the Schreiners to be on par with the Crosswids. But oinly because i am  kind of a perfectionist in this regard:)

Versatility and adjustability: This one also goes to the Crosswinds. Nearly all angles can be adjusted tthere. For the Schreiners there is only the angle of the foootrests that can be adjusted. Since i already plan on making some custom footrests in 109 style like the ones i made for my crosswinds i will just forsee some swivel adjustability so the Schreiners get a little improvement in that regard. Also the forces needed to either brake or move the rudder is fixed by the dampeners with the schreiners. Again a plus for the Crosswinds.

I apologize if there is any problems in orthography or grammar. I am german and have only a limited amount of time for this little writeup.

Cheers

Here is a little update wich i should i should mention:

I unmounted the Schreiners and realized that the joystickboard that has been used was an outdated Bodnar BU0836 Board. Those boards are only capable of reading 1024 positions.

So it werent actually the hall sensors bbut the board that restricted the resolution.

Luckily i still had a newer version of the exact same board and could swap it. This now leaves an effective resolution of 540 positions for the brakes and 2100 positions for the rudder effectively shortening the performancegap between Crosswind and the Schreiners.

So, the Crosswind and the Schreiner (after modifying it) are more or less the same in use. The Schreiner looks more durable, but the Crosswind performed just as well.

Is that conclusion right?

I own the Crosswind (got the pedals delivered some 8 weeks ago) and I think they're the last pedals I'll ever buy. So, I'm curious as to why you went after the Schreiner pedals.

Whatever the reason; you have a very nice setup with the Schreiner stick. I'm using the Warthog with a 20cm extension and custom made some sort of cockpit together so it is a "ground stick" as your Schreiner.

Got to admit: when I was working on this, I had your setup in mind.

I unmounted the Schreiners and realized that the joystickboard that has been used was an outdated Bodnar BU0836 Board. Those boards are only capable of reading 1024 positions.

First generation of BU0836 is 10 bits = 1.024 positions

Second generation - BU0836A or X is 12 bits = 4.096 positions

Crosswind use 14 bits controller = 4.096 positions, and now Melexis 14 bits MLX90363 HALL sensor (similar to Warthog).

This now leaves an effective resolution of 540 positions for the brakes and 2100 positions

Here's the limiting factor is the pedal movement, to achieve the possible 4096 positions is need turn the magnet face to HALL sensor - maybe 180 degrees (if used Allegro A1302 - sold be L.Bodnar).

With Melexis, the manufacturer can reprogram the sensor the ancheive the maximum resolution with only, e.g. 60 degrees of magnet movement.  :good:

On joystick resolution, worth read: http://www.hempstick.org/download/articles/OnResolution.pdf

As for durability, Formica like material don't rust...  :)
