FSSB R3 Warthog experience in RoF, IL2 and DCS

Hi,

I've got my FSSB R3 and just tried it in DCS, RoF and IL2 BoS. I tried sensitivities 2.5/4lb, 3.81/4lb and 7.75/8.5lb and I find the latter is the best for DCS.

I use it along with TM Throttle, VKB T-Rudder pedals and trackir.

I've spent may be 2-3 hours in each game and now I have mixed feelings.

In RoF dogfighting with FSSB is almost impossible because it's very difficult to continuously apply proper force on proper angle of the stick while making loops chasing a target. Taking down the first enemy, I cannot continue with the second one because of pain in my wrist. In comparison, with my VKB mamba I can easily shot down multiple targets in a row.

So, I think FSSB is not good choice for WW1 planes.

In IL2 BoS I found FSSB is very useful at boom-zooming bombers and assault planes or hunting ground targets. I was able to hit any ground target from the first attempt which is really better that with VKB mamba. But, in close dogfight the problem is the same as in RoF, I just cannot keep stick for long time during sharp turns. I think I'll keep using both joysticks - VKB in the middle (between legs) and FSSB from the right side. In dogfight I'll use Mamba and for boom-zooms and ground targets I'll switch to FSSB.

In DCS, if I fly jets, FSSB R3 is probably the best and most accurate stick I've ever tried, but again, in my opinion It's not suitable for WW2 planes like Dora, Bf-109 or P-51D.

If somebody had better experience with FSSB R3 in WW1/WW2 dogfight, please leave your opinion and post some advice.

I have a thrustmaster Cougar with FFSB 1 + Hall sensor mods. I have set at the lowest force settings. It is really made for jets, like Falcon 4, DCS. It works fine in RoF and IL2. The trick is to use the most sensitive settings ingame, you can then use just a light pressure on the stick to get the results you want. The big advantage to FFSB is the precision, for example when you want to line up for air-to-air refueling in a jet sims or carrier landings.
