KG200_Volker Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 (edited) I see people asking so I thought about clarifying (had the same questions at first) For client side open port : 28100 UDP For server side open ports : 28000 TCP 28000 UDP 28100 TCP This means that you can use 2 PCs over the same network, one for hosting the mission and one for playing the sim as a client. The same ports apply for hosting and playing from the same PC. Edited March 29, 2015 by KG200_Volker
Jupp Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 (edited) ~S~ Volker, Thanks for being thoughtful of others and posting this information. I've only run (hosted) Dserver and flown from my PC and it works great. People (plural) have often commented how lag-free my set ups have been. Possibly from the minimal MP missions I write, though the missions had included it snowing as weather. I run a 3.2 Ghz HP Quad Core, Win7 Home OS, 16 GB Ram, Hardwired (Ethernet cable) to the internet router. Anyway, it's important to include, to Start Track IR, then the Game, then Dserver, then join your own server. That is, for those that use TrackIR. Also, I use custom settings, and Advanced Settings, for session set ups. Cheers, -Jupp- Edited March 29, 2015 by Jupp
Phoenix Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 sorry to bring an older post back up but do you have to have a seperate key for your server? I just wanna host my own to have a few friends on but says my account is in use, does this require me to have 2 keys to host and play?
coconut Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 @Phoenix: Yes, you need a second account. Luckily, you can get one for free. Follow instructions at the bottom of this message: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/12826-game-updates/?do=findComment&comment=236340
