Who has completed all unlocks .

Just a quick question as the title says , As for me i still have not done all my unlocks ,  i  have only one aircraft with full unlocks and that's the BF109-F4 and i feel i wont complete the others either , i find it very tedious . personal choice.

Can you start the campaign from scratch ..??? , choose my next aircraft lets say the G2 and go through the grind again or will i loose my completed unlocks for the F4 .

Reason i ask is when i fly campaign in it finished state pilot level 9 ,.........  in the G2 on auto pilot it never gets any unlocks even though mission completed 100% is there a bug with campaign and unlocks .

You just go back to the first campaign and chose a different airfield and aircraft and you can start working on unlocks for other aircraft. It wont affect the G2 unlocks and you cannot go back to Level 1.

But not skins :D

Are you inferring the campaign is some kind of challenge?

Without derailing the thread most of us pre-paid to fly all aircraft with their modifications and were unaware of the unlock system....half of us are onliners who don't fly offline at all.

I've flow the campaign a bit, I don't like it, find the missions repetitive and it's missing all the things that people like in a campaign.

The word 'grind' sums it up.

You asked me if I was somehow insinuating the campaign was hard.....

I think you are jumping to conclusions here, you admitted it was a grind and personally I think clicking a button is 'the easy route.'

It was obviously a joking comment, let's not get excited over nothing.

I have The Pe-2, and the La-5 missing. For the Yak I need one more Skin.

But it's very hard to do in Pilot Level 9. I get shot down almost every mission.

Half???

I doubt that very much.

Just as you, I'm guessing at the numbers, but the amount of online players hardly seems to be half of the number of accounts here on this forum.

I'm aware not all forum names are players, it's an indication nonetheless.

Ah well,...

A lot of people aren't flying online at the moment for various reasons.

Pretty much all of us "founders" should have clicked, we funded this sim.

I paid.

I clicked.

I still have to grind for the skins though.

Onliners are minority in flightsims. But the most vocal one on forums.

Answering the original question:

You can go back to any chapter of the campaign at any time, with any plane.  It will not affect anything that is already unlocked.  Your pilot level will keep climbing though, until you hit cap at level 10.

I never did a mission with autopilot, but in earlier game versions I had read that some players were doing that and xp was counting towards unlocks just fine, maybe it changed with 1.010??  I cannot say either way I have not tested it...

I found that the campaign eventually did improve as pilot level increased.  Once above level 7 the amount of AI ground units and planes encountered during missions seemed to increase.  I did find it boring early on when you knew nothing would happen except at action point and maybe at exit point.  But at pilot levels 8 and above, I found there was much higher chance of coming across enemies, especially en route to target and returning home.  I enjoyed the higher chance of running into random enemy flights en route and having to decide whether to engage, run, or ignore and stick to mission.

Personally I looked at the unlocks as aircraft familiarization and training for multiplayer, instead of considering it a grind just for the unlocks.  My flying, accuracy and aircraft familiarization definitely improved after completing unlocks through campaign.  However, I will admit that I had been away from flying and simming for a few years and was more than a little rusty.  I probably would have had a different outlook if I had come right over from other sims like most of you, and not needed the brush up and familiarization.

Also, in my opinion, if SP only players can handle pilot level 10 then they shouldn't feel too worried about making the jump to online, and should be able to hold their own fairly well.  Just have to get out of some bad AI fighting habits that won't work against most real people.

Edit:  If I had been a founder and originally had the unlocks, but then had them taken away, I'm sure I would have viewed it more of a grind.  I came in at the end of 1.006 and all I knew were that unlocks were present and I might as well get them done.

Second Edit:  Completing all unlocks including all skins took me about 50-60 hours play time on normal.  It should be about half of that if playing on expert.

Please read my above statement to Emil.  I think you saw one comment on the thread and didn't bother to read the rest before adding your two cents.

Please may you guys help me?

I unlocked something, then came the UNLOCK thing by the team, and I decided to take that way.

Everything looked ok, but right now I realized most of the skins for russian planes are still locked

where is my error?

Do I have to click the unlock button again on this site?

Skins remain locked even after using unlock button. Stated in DD and the release of 1.009 which debuted the unlock button.

Still have to grind for them in campaign or dl similar user made skins.

Me.

First started with autopilot, but the second half was quicker with 'expert' settings.

All mods, all skins.

Ref the skins why not download the custom skins and use them as i do , but then i think that's for online play only not single player which i try to avoid .

Just tried campaign at the start with G2 on auto @ x2 pilot out of the  three missions i tried , only one passed as a completed mission  however there still was no unlock . :(

I guess as i fly at pilot level 8-9 i need to gain more XP points . My god i cant believe i have to gain points in a combat flight Sim .

But to be honest this takes away the immersion of the flight Sim .. "oops"  game .

Give it another go tomorrow . My god what have you developers Done . Ive had this game months and still cant get to grips with it .

Edit ...going away frustrated .

To find out your progress towards unlocking the skins, click on profile, then click on the plane, and it should show a status bar with how much more xp is needed to reach the next unlock.  AFAIK pilot level has no impact on xp in any way other than it is now harder to complete missions with more enemies, better AI accuracy, etc.  Hope that helps a little.

I did them all.  I later had a root canal which I found more enjoyable.

I've done all of the campaign and unlocked all the planes and achievements. Took 55 hours set on Expert. If you look at the way the scoring works it takes about 6 sucessful Long missions to unlock everything for a plane if you're set on Expert. Twice that ammount of time on Normal. So 5.5 hours per plane is about right.

So if you want to get everything fast (and actually play instead of buy) go on Expert. You get the most points for actually completing missions and not just destroying random stuff so when you get Mission Sucess head home and don't go for more glory.

Me.

First started with autopilot, but the second half was quicker with 'expert' settings.

All mods, all skins.

This. Expert is faster than Autopilot and more fun.

Are we really going back to this again? To the Op ... as has been said.. probably almost 100 times.... You are not paying for what you already paid for.. You are paying for two additional aircraft when you buy either premium outright or individual premium content. To answer your question, once I gotall the hardware unlocked I never bothered with the campaign again...I could care less about the remaining skin or two for the few aircraft I had left.

I got all mods for single-engine planes (except 15mm cannons for Bf-109F... why bother while I have 20mm founder cannons?). Didn't bother with purposefully unlocking the last skins, I'll get them eventually by flying the campaign for pleasure/refamiliarisation... which isn't happening at the moment. I blame RoF MF fixes :) .

I also unlocked everything by playing the campaign on expert mode. But I think I am the only one in our squad who did it (from ca 23 who have the game)

S!

Unlocked everything long before we even got the ability to click the magical button. Won't press it through, cause I fear it will reset my pilot level and unlocked skins. Unlocking everything didn't take that long, about a week (3-4 hours per day) until I had all unlocks and skins.

Depending on how intresting the BoM camaign will become, I will unlock everything the 'hard' way again.

Also especially for any silver founders... but really anyone who bought into standard before the last two huge sales... You had the opportunity to purchase both premium aircraft for under $20 ..... If you didn't take advantage of that then that is on you because the sale went on for over a month if you combine both sale events...
