Quax Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 The good thing is, BoS has the real moon phases modelled. The bad thing, at the moment, we can´t make use of it. I tried to create a night transport mission, based on lighted take off and landing runways. The navigation should have been dead reckoning and RPK 10 / AFN. The lighting is nice for the full moon, when the sky is clear. But at new moon, it should be dark at midnight. There haven´t been lighted cities on the ground. It should be real black. So I thought, I take an overcast sky at midnight at a moonless night, in order to get it black, but this was the result: The sky is brighter than at noon, and you can see hundreds of kilometers. Suggestion: 1. Use only the moon as source of light in the night (taking advantage of the moon phases) 2. Clouds should cover that light. Mission makers would have the full variety of lighting, which BoS offers.
Quax Posted March 24, 2015 Author Posted March 24, 2015 (edited) For comparison, in RoF (same DN engine), you can call it a night: you see absolutely nothing, except the fires - that would be really cool for a He111 transport mission. Edited March 24, 2015 by Quax
