diomedesbc Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 I just started playing the campaign and I'm finding that the biggest threat to my plane is debris from enemy planes? So many times I'm firing at them from behind and I am crippled from what I'm assuming is debris from their plane. Any tips to avoiding this? Do I have to make sure I focus on deflection shots only? Tried searching the forums but couldn't really find anything. Thanks.
Leaf Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Well, if we're talking about two-seaters, it might be their gunners. They're pretty lethal in BoS.I try to avoid deflection as much as possible (i.e. get in close) and have only rarely been hit by the odd wing or rudder, so the only advice I can give is to break away immediately after firing to minimise the chances of that occurring.
Finkeren Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 You are not alone in experiencing this. Real life pilots like Erich Hartmann who fired from extremely close ranges quite often damaged their own aircraft due to debris from their victims. Hartmann himself were brought down several times by it. The best way to avoid it is to fire from longer ranges, but of that ofc will limit your deadliness. Otherwise the best advise is to break off immediately after firing your burst. The damage model in BoS is quite dynamic, so usually it takes a short while for parts to come off the aircraft.
Bear_is_flying Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 At least you've got him just as bad as he got you! 1
diomedesbc Posted March 23, 2015 Author Posted March 23, 2015 Probably a little of both debris and tail gunner. I'll have to be more careful. Thanks guys.
-TBC-AeroAce Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 I'm not really sure if I have been damaged by debris, unless it's like a wing or half a fuselage
