Better to have less guards, and let them walk in more logic patterns. Currently if you come in from landing you see a lot of them walking all over the place. Would be nice to have ground staff, pilots and an ambulance waiting for the flight on their return. Not difficulty to do but will give the sim that extra dimension. Adding damage model where landing gear drops after the hydraulic/electric system got hit. Seen many times in gun camera records. Seperate communication with wing man. (single player) Ability to fly as wingman. (single player) Looking forward to Battle of Moscow! 1

Please dear devs. My understanding of the technical aspects of the dserver and Me aren't all there but isn't a coop mission just an online mission with ai. Hence all it would take is to make an online, password protected server that incorporates ai. Is that possible???

Well, we now know exactly what it'll take to make the devs consider FM changes: Procure original data and do tests within BoS and then show how the two don't match up - easy as that. Simply whining about the need to 'fix' any given aircrafts FM will get you nowhere.

Not that important for the rest of us (apart from the fact that we enjoy the work of the video makers) It's a really easy thing to add and should ofc be there, even if most of us will never use it.

Would be really nice if they could get Hyperlobby working with BoS! Well it's kinda moot as Jason said no to any kind of lobby or chat but in my opinion it would be a huge boost to MP. Imagine being able to sit in the server selection room where you had a player list showing people in/out server. You spot that there's a squad of 5 online but not flying yet so you could send them a message asking if they want to fly a squad v squad fight or co-op style mission. Within seconds you could be flying a mission in the way many people like (old style co-op). Never underestimate the competitive spirit of simmers...when you are in a squad of more than 4 or 5 a DF server has little challenge since most people flying are either solo or uncoordinated. 4v4 and 6v6 were our bread and butter in IL2 and we never struggled to find people to fight us, the more we won the more it made people want to beat us. Because we don't have something like this it is very hard to arrange and we'd have to organise it in advance or use some kind of 3rd party software like ICQ type deal but then people use many different ways of communicating so that's off to a bad start already.

I hope the devs come to their senses on that one. There is not much hope for the stock singleplayer game without the mods on mode. 1

I propose a pager system and player list in the server room that way and with the work around we have using DF mode it would be good enough and a bit like the old days. I think this would add an extra important dimension to MP. Cheers Emil

Please dear devs. I've tried to bore people on multiple forums about what I see as the big difference between coop and df missions, and I think it's in the way the "Start Mission" button is deployed. In a DF, the server starts the mission, and players join, as and when they like. In a coop, players join and after that, when everyone is ready in their slots, sitting in their cockpits, the server starts the mission. This was a huge issue for my squadron in CloD, leading to wide-spread weeping and gnashing of teeth. HOWEVER! It's not such a thing in BoS because of the way the missions work. Everything (well, almost everything) in BoS has to be activated by a trigger - even if that trigger is a "Mission Begin" translator. So, it's trivially easy to put down a proximity listener/complex trigger, etc, on say, the runway threshold and have everything run from that. Moreover, many objects in BoS will activate and deactivate depending on how near players are, and so this is - already - a coop-friendly feature. So the mission can - effectively - run when the first player, say, takes off or fires a flare, perhaps, etc. And AI flights and targets can activate whenever the mission builder wants. Coop all the way! With the fakefield and fakefieldrw objects, we can start players in parking slots or in a grid on the runway, with or without their engines running. It's pretty much all you need. As for the lobby aspect of starting a coop - yes, it'd be nice. The one in RoF works well, it seems to me. But with comms I don't think it's really necessary. My squadron anway doesn't seem to miss it. +++++ As for what I want for the next version - a "ground crew" group or object that could appear around the aeroplane at the end of the mission on, say, an "engine off" event. I'm a sucker for that moving-gantry thing in many FSX airport addons! There was a lovely elaborate script in CloD that summoned ambulances and tenders to your aircraft on landing. Flawed, but way-cool! (Actually, writing this, I wonder if there's a way of implementing some sort of makeshift ground crew right now in the game... To be investigated!) BlitzPig_EL Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 (edited) If you want to get a lot of folks that are still on the sidelines, and a substantial number that have the game but don't play it to come back, you need to open up the graphics settings again, and, you need to have more customizable settings for in game conditions, that is, ability to customize icons, in cockpit map plane icon for easier navigation, etc... And the tiny minority here that will scream "go back to War Thunder n00b!!!" really need to understand that this sim cannot be commercially successful just being the playground of the minority of super hard core players. Correct the speed of soviet YAK-1. We all know its far too fast. Maybe water effects on windscreens like we see it in ROF. That would be awesome. More content - but i am aware this is being worked on. So other than that I am pretty happy with the sim! 2

I agree, it would be awesome, but it would be much much harder to do in BoS compared to RoF where it's basically just a filter laid over the screen. In BoS it would have to be a decal laid on top of the canopy, similar to the oil effect, except it would have to be fully animated as well. I don't fault the devs for giving it a pass.
