I can't run this game well at all because I can't optimize the settings. I really enjoy the feel of this game but I dont think i can buy into anything else unless I have a new computer it seems. My video card outpaces the rest of my computer dramatically so I run most games amazingly if I'm able to adjust the settings.

What kind of rig are you running?

 

I decided to pull the trigger on this game next time it's on sale so I can escape War Thunder.  Enjoyed CoD just hated the extreme optimization issues.

Im running a 3570k 660ti 8gb ram, so wondering if that is enough to enjoy it quite well.

Yes it is enough, i'm "maxing" the game at 1080p/locked 60fps with a 760. I just wish i could [Edited] get rid of the stupid SSAO and get higher view distances for the terrain. I still don't understand what's wrong with this game's developers, they must be mistaking us for console kiddies.

In a non diplomatic way I would say ,it will never happen, you are just too [Edited] to deal with too much of freedom.
In a diplomatic way I would say , there are still so much bugs they got to deal with, that its barely possible to determine an estimated time, when the grafic presets will be opened.

I don't understand that having unlocked options does not mean there won' be any presets.

There's an easy way around that though! And it has bene suggested a good many times.

When the user clicks on "Custom", a warning box pops up that states there won't be any technical help from the company due to the reasons stated in your diplomatic reply. You then click "I understand and want to proceed" or "No thanks" like in a EULA and everyone's happy.

 

Those that would suffer from not understanding custom option are sufficiently warned and everyone else is happy as well.

Plus we wouldn't get this thread to pop up every other week

That's a great suggestion, and maybe if we keep bugging them and asking for this to be implemented they might. We should all start sending emails asking for this hahaha, let's spam their support mailboxes.

Yep you TWB chaps seem pretty friendly on the whole, with a fine server might I add (lacking player numbers sometimes ), but I think you need to get your wookie under control. He does seem to make a lot of offensive sounds.

Back on topic:

Custom graphics settings would be nice, but considering Zak's explanations, they seem unlikely to arrive any time soon. 

 

I think a good (and necessary!) compromise would be the option to remove the SSAO and post-contrast effects. That seems to be feasible, according to Zak and would give us at least some more options. I never did like the SSAO & post-contrast in this game anyway.

Your computer should run it fine. My problem is I extended the life of my old machine by adding a new video card. The CPU and ram are too old. This usually isn't a problem on other games because the video card makes up for it. I know my way around computers since its my living and could fix this problem if settings were opened up. Because they aren't, I'm out of luck. I'll likely build a new machine late summer so having another go at this game will be something to look forward too.

Indeed. This thread could have gone a bit better. I suggest that all of you consider this..

 

At one time we had unlocks... and there was no work around. The team created a poll about the unlocks. Some poo pooed it and claimed that it was just a poll to coral all the responses into one place while the evil team at 1C ignored their customers, some took it seriously and posted in it.. some ignored it and stormed off and just continued to complain. 

 

Now we have an option for unlocks.

 

I suggest that anyone who has concerns over this issue.. graphics settings.. participate in this poll.

 

At this juncture in this endeavor these kinds of threads will not be tolerated if they are not opened and posted in in a civil manner devoid of the kinds of stuff that has been edited out of this thread.

 

By this time, given all that has transpired between October when the sim was released and now, if anyone cannot see that this team is trying to do their utmost best to deliver us a decent flight sim.. then I don't know what to tell you.. but as far as I am concerned at this juncture these kinds of posts and threads will not be tolerated.

 

You can call it whatever you want to .. but if you cannot post concerns or complaints in a mature manner then please do not post here.
