Guest deleted@50488 Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 My Fw190 in BoS can't still be taxied so easily, and without requiring the unrealistic use of right rudder, with or without the talwheel locked :-( Same applies to the Bf109s The prop slipstream or torque effects, or the propwash calculations at these speeds are still far from realistic, I'm afraid...
PA-Sniv Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Have you tried using manual pitch (11.30-12.00)? Tried yesterday and didn't need that much right rudder (and tailwheel lock helps a lot). In your videos, pilot use both rudder and stick back. In this one too: Cheers,
WWChunk Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 This update has vastly improved taxiing with the Würger. Last night was the first time I went without a ground loop from the parking area to the runway. This was with auto pitch, and vastly less brake usage.
Matt Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 (edited) I guess the prop pitch would automatically wind to the 12:00 position when switching to Manual Prop ( ? ) No, you have to manually adjust prop pitch to 12:00 (or even 12:35) position. I personally noticed no huge difference in taxiing the Fw 190 with the recent update. It still has to be done mainly by using breaks and you're still better of taxiing with locked tail wheel whenever possible (=no tight turns necessary). As soon as you're spinning, nothing but throttling down or using breaks seems to work to slow this down. Full opposite rudder and even throttling up to max doesn't seem to have any positive effect. It almost seems like the propwash just can't reach the rudder. Edited March 18, 2015 by Matt

My guess is the Fw190N (this one at least) has a manual tailwheel lock that would be very much simpler to build.
Uriah Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 I am thinking moving around with a locked tail wheel is a quick way to wear one out right away.
