I went to see Blondie when they first reformed, Debs well into her 50's (at least).

It wasn't a good idea.

I said to the missus hey you'd like this one, and as I turned to her smiling gregariously, she passed out in the kitty litter.

But then, I met her on the Village Green ....

Contrary to popular belief, I never met the missus at Monterey. So stop the speculation and conspiracy theories. It never happened.

Nor at the Lynchburg, Tennessee Hoe-Down. C'mon get real.

Nope, I met her at a Zen retreat in the Himalayas. The Buddha was good and it all just made sense somehow. There is no mountain and f*&k, then there is. :o:

He is certainly beyond criticism Kintaro.

However, we must include the ladies. My pick is the wonderful France Gall. Nobody can beat her, not even Doris.

Another one gone. ?

Two songs about a horse:

Long Shot competed in 203 races, without winning one. He is commemorated annually in the Long Shot Trophy, held at Jamaica's Caymanas Park race track.

I think it's about time we heard from the ladies.

The great Ketty Lester ....

The fragile Vikki Carr ....

And the inimitable Marianne ....

Waiting for the auto-merge ....

And of course I cannot forget Scottish chicks. The fabulous Annie Lennox.

Sweet Dreams Are Made of Cheese.

Change of tack, for my Finnish friends some Finland bluegrass ....

[80 years ago today] "• While in New York between merchant ships (Liberty ship William B. Travis had been mined in the Mediterranean and he will soon board Sea Porpoise for the Normandy Invasion – she will be torpedoed by U-390 but survive), Woody Guthrie records a whirlwind of 54 songs.  They will be released individually over the next three years but not together in a set until 2009."

I dunno Kintaro. The accent sounds normal to my western ears. I just think the song is great. I can't explain why. Some songs just hit you where it matters.
