What Do You Listen To? - Music Thread.

When I sit back and reflect I get to thinkin', does it even matter about the next DD or why Madonna even bothers anymore? It's about wholesome music with banjos and mandolins sung and played live without video tricks like slo-mo and wind machines. Life's not about doom metal or death punk. It's about getting on with people even if they're low life scum or some psycho bitch that ruined your life. It's about forgiveness and giving and love.

Yes it's hard. But nothing worth doing is easy. When I stray I put this one on and everything's alright again ....

Music is a gateway that connects us to our memories. A song doesn't have to be great to bring back pleasant memories. It's enough to hear that annoying song that was playing in the radio, when you met someone you loved, to bring back those pleasant memories.

We are all different, of different ages, from different parts of the world and we all had vastly different experiences.

It's perfectly  normal to like different music.

Yes, but I like the official video better, it looks like a little story in the old style, such a cool twist on the 80s

Looks like they deleted it. maybe moving it to new platform. All I could find was the poster.

Boy, you old geezers really need to get funky. Enough Eagles doom pop and other assorted miseries, let's get it on ....

Beautiful choreography. Note the yin and yang. Outstanding.

I really don't think the old geezers would understand this modern type of music Jaws. I mean I get it but you know, the oldies here ....

So here's a jaunty little number from them good ol' days of analog music where they can tap their toes and reminisce whilst on post-op painkillers.

The title of the thread is What Do You Listen? - Music Thread.

It's not "what do you think the old geezers would want you to play for them".

We all have a music period, that we enjoy most. It's usually the music that was playing when we were teens/young adults. I' m into 90's and early 2000's.  It's normal for older people to be into different period music. That's when they were young. My parents didn't like my music, and I bet neither did your parents like your music, but that didn't mean you  should only listen to what they liked.

It's been like that for ever. It's human nature.

I don't get today's music, I think is just noise, but I understand the kids of today love it as it is.

It doesn't mean that , scientifically newer music is better or worse, It's THEIR music and I respect that, just like I respect yours.

In the end, nobody is forcing you  to listen to it.

You always take the sweetest rose, (and) CRUSH IT, till the petals fall. You always break the kindest heart ....

Love, sweet love.

Oh to hell with it .... I love the way Buddy doesn't just play the guitar, it's more of a slash attack from which a guitar perhaps never recovers but is secretly in awe.

Probably the best song ever to be written about an atomic bomb... and it's still groovy af nearly 43 years after release.

Don't get me started on Disco Catchov or I'll start spamming here  like Ray does with his StarWars stuff...

Anyway, had to post this one... former porno actress cum Disco Queen singing about how she likes more....well you know!

Oh and for the 90's early 00's kids, this is where the  main riff for Len's "Steal my sunshine" comes from... ( sampled from about 2:20 to 2:28 in "More More More"  )

Well then, here lies arguably the greatest disco song ever written not only for its musical and lyrical qualities but for the dynamic and passionate performance utilising a walking stick to great effect. Filmed at the famous Soap Factory with various dancers.

You see you were born
Born, born to be alive
(Born to be alive)
You see you were born
Born, born (Born to be alive)
It's good to be alive
To be alive
To be alive
It's good to be alive
To be alive
To be alive
It's good to be alive

Tempted to go down a disco wormhole but I'll resist and post one of the greatest soul tracks by one of the greatest soul singers ever instead.
