I  was getting no sound from the simulated Center Speaker on my Rocat 5.1 surround headphones. I was getting no bass and no response from the ButtKicker Gamer 2 attached to my chair. Installing these new drivers from SoundBlaster,  just issued at the end of January,  fixed these problems. Here is a link to the drivers     http://support.creative.com/Products/Products.aspx?catid=1

Sadly I just have a Realtek on-board soundchip, so soundblaster drivers wouldn't help me anyway. But the Link doesn't seem to wok (for me). Thanks for the info through, I guess most people don't check drivers for soundcards recently and would have  missed this one.

Are you getting 6 audio channels from the game though? Last time I tried the game would only output 2ch audio even if I set my audio to 6ch or 8ch in the drivers/windows. The sub-, center- and back-channels were not getting any signal at all.

I have a strange problem audio related.......Sometimes in the heat of combat.....my screen will freeze with the last sounds locked into my system...Even when I cntl/alt/delete......and shut down everything the sound is still locked in....I have to actually reboot my system to get it to stop.  This has happened at least 4 or 5 times.  My audio drivers are up to date.....I have surround sound settings...I'm wondering if the game is not supporting such...if I should drop my settings back.  Anyone else out there experiencing anything like this?

Penshoon, was not getting any response from my center channel, the sub and the ButtKicker channel are the same and i wasn't getting any output from them either. I was, however getting LFT/RT front and LFT/RT rear audio. Since i downloaded and installed the new Sb driver all the channels are working.

Zettman, I was using the Realtek onboard audio but I could never seem to get the Buttkicker to work properly until i got the separate sound card.

I never had that problem till I read your comment.  Then first time I fire up the game, this same thing happens to me.  I blame you Jagd;)

Don't scare me, my buttkicker finally was shipped (ordered it around October, wasn't available for a while in that shop). Buying a soundcard would be no problem budget-wise, fitting it into my case, 3-SLI + PCIe SSD is not possible, cause I have no more free PCI slots. Guess I will have to go for an external USB soundcard if I can't get it to work with the onboard one.

I think you'll really like the Buttkicker, Zettman. I think most folks can get the ButtKicker to work without a separate sound card so you'll be good to go.

Because each Sim has unique audio  it really doesn't perform the same in any 2 sims; there are no hard and fast rules on how to set it up. I suppose thats why the instructions with it are limited in scope, essentially how to connect it and turn it on. You may have to fiddle with it a bit to get it to work the way you'd like it to.  One advantage to having the separate SoundBlaster card is the 'SB Control Panel' software that give more options for adjusting and tuning the audio output.

I used my buttkicker with several different sound cards and had no problems getting it to work.

Either you can plug it in your SUB output on your sound card, if the game/movie has a LFE channel it will work straight away. If not (like bos) you need use bass management on your sound card to send bass frequencies from the other speaker channels to the sub output. If your on board sound card can do it it should show up in the windows box or in realtek HD audio manager as below.

Or you can use the included 3,5 mm Y splitter cable in your headphone output and plug your speakers/headphones in one of the outputs and the buttkicker in the other. This way the buttkicker will shake whenever there is any sound ingame so you have to use the low pass filter knobs on the buttkicker amp to filter out the treble and mid frequencies so it only shakes when there is bass sound.

The buttkicker overall is super nice but annoys my neighbors too much, people from several stairs below me was complaining about the constant engine rumbling in the night

If you hadn't already bought one I would have sold you mine cheap, pm if you want another  :salute:

I've also received complaints regarding the rumbling of the ButtKicker, from family members several rooms away.  I have to turn it off if people are trying to Sleep.

Good that the girl that lives next door is going to become a Transportoffizier(in), so she should show some empathy for my flight simulator games.

Thanks for the information. Made a quick check and it looks like I have all these option on my on board soundcard, so I should be alright.
