Zettman Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 S! Just to be sure that I got this right, currently the distance you set for convergence will make your wing guns cross their fire at this distance (horizontal convergence) and also make them pass the crosshair line at that distance (vertical convergence). Is their an option to set vertical and horizontal convergence to different values? I would like to drop my bullets immediately after they leave the gun (vertical convergence at 100m) but the wing guns should shoot parallel or cross at a very far distance (horizontal convergence at for example 800m). I know this sounds odd, but I often overshoot my enemies if I'm too close because of a to high vertical convergence and if I set the gun convergence to low I can't shoot targets at longer distances anymore in my Fw 190 A-3. Wulf Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 (edited) No, you can't set both hor./vert. separately. Essentially, the harmonization distance is the range (200 m or whatever) you select along your line of sight. Trajectory is of course modeled so if you were to elect to shoot to 800 m for example, your projectiles will shoot well above your target at 100-200 m and then drop like stones at any range beyond 800 m. So for example, if the enemy aircraft was at 875 m rather than 800 m, you wouldn't hit it if you held dead-on at that range. Your projectiles would be well below the target. Also remember projectile dispersion increases with range. You are in a moving gun platform, with weapons that are on flexible mountings shooting at long distance, at a target that is also moving. 800 m is a 'big ask' in any shooting scenario you care to mention.
