Keeps crashing on every outing. Have tried to untick 'read only' box for folder permissions as suggested but windows keeps re-enabling it.

I have the same problem. Playing a campaign mission and then randomly it stops. Typically in combat but not exclusively.

I haven't been able to figure it out and I've tried all of the various suggestions... except that one that you mentioned. Read only issue?

Other people tell me they have that 'read only' box ticked and it runs fine. One mentioned that the game should be installed in the programs folder or programs x86 folder in 'C drive' but to create a games folder and put the game in there. I tried that and still get the random crashes. i have filed a ticket with 1C/777, when I get a reply I will post it here.

I have had few crashes just recently, did not have them before. I even installed Windows and BoS again, stil it crashes quite often. Strange.

I think I have found the culprit but in case this does not work for you I have included the reply from support to get you a peg up before they ask you for the same. It did not crash as before when I changed the DEP setting as mentioned below

This is the error I had been getting:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BEX
Application Name: Il-2.exe
Application Version: 1.0.0.1
Application Timestamp: 54f183dd
Fault Module Name: StackHash_0a9e
Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0
Fault Module Timestamp: 00000000
#########################################

Fault Module Name: StackHash_0a9e The StackHash error occurs when DEP is invoked and has an issue with whatever application you’re trying to run ,The error is related to Data Execution Prevention.

Here is the link from Microsoft to correct that http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Change-Data-Execution-Prevention-settings?SignedIn=1

If that does not work send these items for support to look into it further:

"We need a report dxdiag.exe (DirectX Diagnostic Tools)

To run a dxdiag report follow the steps below:

Click on, [Win]+[R]
In the pop-up window enter dxdiag and hit ok.

Click on, "Save" (The file should be saved to your desktop as dxdiag)

Additionally, submit:
- report of Windows "Task Manager"

Click on, [Win]+[R]
type cmd
Press [Enter] or [Ok] button
In the pop-up window enter tasklist > c:\tasklist.txt
Press [Enter]

-screenshot of the settings in lončere

The reports and screenshots attach to the letter."

Unfortunately i am still getting the issue so i have re-installed and will reply to support with the data they need, they may see a common issue if we all send in a support request for the same.
