Juri_JS Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 I am having some problems with the fakefield feature. When I have an airfield with a fakefield, that is used by more than one group of planes, one of the groups will not land, they will do endless landing approaches and abort them. When I remove the fakefield all groups will land correctly. Another problem I've noticed is, that plane groups will not take-off when the same airfield is used by more than one group. Here my questions:1. Is there a way to use the fakefield feature with more than one plane group at an airfield?2. Can more than one fakefield be used at an airfield?3. Can a fakefield be linked to a certain plane group?
Juri_JS Posted March 8, 2015 Author Posted March 8, 2015 Ok, I think I now know how to make multiple groups use the same fakefield, but I still have another problem. After landing the planes will often damage their wheels during taxiing. Does anyone know how this can be avoided. Here's a test mission that shows the problem: http://www.mediafire.com/download/pe6h6z6k6h89fga/Fakefield_test.zip
No601_Swallow Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Thanks for this, Juri. I'll have a look tonight. This is kind-of what I really like - the "community" burrowing down, digging deeper to discover the possibilities and limitations. Cool stuff!
SYN_Haashashin Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Cool, I was wondering the same last night. Will also take a look later today.
JimTM Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Did this ever get resolved? Might make a good troubleshooting entry for the manual. Cheers!
MF-Belgarufo Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 (edited) make sure your take off and landing MCUs are on the ground, have beat my head against that wall more than a couple times. Especially if you import waypoints for gv's and take off/ landing MCUs, they don't snap to the ground. Otherwise it's all about that airfield chart. When your plane's wheel broke it is perhaps a take off MCU slightly below the ground? Question 2 Yes two on the same airfield is fine, you might want to do this on a double strip airfield so you can set up both runways with a taxi chart. Question 3 The AI will use what ever taxi path is closest to them. That's all i got Edited July 8, 2016 by MF-Belgarufo 1
JimTM Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Question 1, yes. Questions 2 and 3, no. Re. question 1, what was the cause of your problem and how did you solve it? Thanks!
Juri_JS Posted July 8, 2016 Author Posted July 8, 2016 Re. question 1, what was the cause of your problem and how did you solve it? To be honest, I can't remember. I had started this thread when I worked on my Platzschutzstaffel Pitomnik mission pack, but this was over a year ago, so I am no longer sure what the exact reasons were and how I solved the problem.
