Uriah Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 No argument there. Neither is it my point. Being able to zoom in is not realistic either but I have not heard a cry for removing that either. My point is I will not play without icons or something. So this server just is not for me. I accept that it is for you.
AbortedMan Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 The mission has plenty of simulated radio call outs to alert teams of enemy aircraft and ground forces in important areas. Also, there are continuous reminders on screen to join the TWB mumble server for comms and teamwork. It's up to the user to make the best of their teammates.
No601_Swallow Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 In our squadron, we've spent the last week trying out our own Dserver, while our mission builders attempt to get up to speed. Last night we tried coop-style missions. There are teething issues to do with spawning on/near the runway, but compared with CloD, these seem trivial at this stage. Most encouraging for us was that we had two squadron-mates on who haven't played since we transitioned from '46 to CloD. Their dislike of CloD was that intense. They both had a blast, as did we all. From our point of view, especially once our mission builders manage to unlock some of the mission editor's capabilities, we think as a squadron we'll be seeing a huge uptick in numbers and enthusiasm. 1
71st_AH_Hooves Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Very fun times in TWB tonight. Numbers held steady at about 30 all night. And the objectives kept the fighting constant. I ended my night leading a 7 ship PE2 raid on Korpovka, got jump by 4 190s and only 3 of us made it to the target. But we smashed it good! Seems MP is picking back up to me. I swore i wouldnt play the game until unlocks were removed. So here i am. Seems many shared that motivation.
SYN_Haashashin Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Last Thursday, the day our squad fly, even only 4 or 5 did, the server was full for hours. We did have great fights but it's clear that our transition from the way slower planes of WWI needs more time and practice hehehehe

Since i fly WW2 i always tear off the wings of my Albatros when i try to return to ROF.
56RAF_phoenix56 Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 It's taken several years of script writing by a number of people to get CloD giving a satisfying online experience reasonably similar to the historical battle of Britain (on the Storm of War server). Though BoS has a head start from the RoF community, it's going to take time. I also think the devs are right not trying to do it themselves, they have to satisfy a wider set of interests and only the serious simming community actually knows what it wants. My struggle atm is getting my squad interested, some are lured by DCS promises (to my mind DCS is even more niche than CloD or BoS), most are soldiering on with CloD, few have BoS even though it's the most complete WW2 flight sim now. 56RAF_phoenix
BlitzPig_EL Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Opening up the number of slots on each server won't help really, there simply are not enough people flying to fill what we have now. Honestly, look at the total number of people online at any given time, not just the people playing one of the two popular servers. There should be hundreds of "pilots" online by this time in the game's development. I've never seen more than 50 online in all servers at any one time. Hopefully some new missions will hit the servers soon, and hopefully some new server hosts as well, but we still need players. Where are they going to come from?
KoN_ Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 There has been a drop in people playing this . I go online as often as possible and i can tell you there isn't much going on , empty servers with no in-depth missions , if you want to compare this to other Sims in multiplayer . This game really needs looking into . before you loose control . 1
6./ZG26_Emil Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 We flew again last night I think a couple of missions in Wings of Liberty? Then I think that server crashed and I had a quick blast in TWB doing all the naughty things a 109 pilot shouldn't (T&B) :D A very good night and I was up way too late again! There really is so much to like about this sim, as long as they keep smoothing out the rough edges this sim definitely has longevity. The terrain and especially the clouds are unbelievable at times the latter must be the best I've seen in any sim. I'm going to keep praying for Co-Ops Emil 1
6./ZG26_Gielow Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 People complains about immersion all the time. But when you have to "serve" on the same theatre of operations for some time flying the same plane, they say it sucks. This is immersion!! To fly the same plane for a year and to learn every small village name. When we have a bigger plane set and an online war this game will really rock!!
Quax Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 @Uriah, bomber raids and ground invasions are on the current Eagle's Nest server! These ground invasions are fun. Before I play SP, I take a IL2 and try to stop those tanks, even if I am alone on the server
SCG_Neun Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 . The terrain and especially the clouds are unbelievable at times the latter must be the best I've seen in any sim. I'm going to keep praying for Co-Ops Emil +1
ZaknafeinTV Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 I do not remember who wrote it, but he was right that the MP gameplay resembles that of the 90s The authors focus only on making the game (graphics, fm, website and more graphics), and not on the creation of a real gameplay that will attract people. In SP, went to the sitter, implementing PWCG generator. They gave little tools that are difficult to understand, leaving the rest alone. Therefore, we have now empty servers in the RoF, and then in the BoS and BoM.Honestly, the best moment of SP in RoF, are the first six training missions. Why have not developed and not created further the mission?Maybe in 90 years, people have more time, but not now. It's creator, should ensure gameplay at a high level. Even if it will not bring income. With time, however, will pay off.
