Can it be true that I couldn't outrun this (see attached pics please) flat out on the deck in a clean 109F? Doing 560 btw. Not to mention his ability to zoom climb when I finally turned and took the fight, with him, a fight that showed the hurt Lagg to be more agile than my unhurt 109f.

Got him pretty bad in 2 gun passes earlier!

If I am hit in a 109 it looses speed bad but this Lagg seemed to stay with me nonetheless. Programming flaw or ?

Look at the damage.

The Russians had 5 rings in Sochi everybody else had 4 rings.

Cheers

It's tough to tell the difference between the two sometimes but that looks like a Yak

All other factors equal though the 109 should be faster.

The FM is the same in Normal or Expert modes

First: That's a Yak, not a LaGG.

If you couldn't run from him on the deck there are only 3 posible explanations:

1. Piloting error on your part (not likely if you kept an IAS of 560km/h)

2. Your plane carrying a lot more fuel than him. (seems plausible)

3. Him starting the chase at a very high speed. (If he started out doing like 650 after a dive, it would take time for him to slow down to his normal top speed on the deck.)

The Yak generally does not outrun the 109s on the deck nor any other altitude.

As for the maneuverability: The Yak normally does lose a bit of speed and lift when the wings are damaged but it can vary from time to time, what's worse is that when it's leaking fuel from one wing tank its balance goes to hell and it becomes fairly hard to fight in without going into a spin.

As someone who flies the Yak a lot, my guess is, that you simply met a pilot who was really experienced at flying the Yak and knew precisely how to handle his damaged plane.

Another possibility..

I noticed on th e109 that 100% joystick settings does not mean your going to get 100% ingame throttle.. The 109 engine is modled as being very delicate, you can NOT run it at 100% for long without burning it up.. Not sure if that is realistic, but that is the way it is in the game.. Long story short, Im guessing you were not going as fast as you think you think you were and it maybe due to the throttle setting things I just mentioned.

Yes I've had that problem with CH gear. It needs to be calibrated. Maybe others do to. You can check in the game settings to see if you're really getting 100%.

Saitek here.. And just to be clear, the 109F, automatically sets the throttle from 100% physical down to around 85% all by itself.. And by auto I mean I did not touch the throttle.. Just seems that is all the engine can do is provide 85% even though it is set to 100%

I've never noticed that. Are you sure it's the game and not the controller? Maybe try remapping the throttle to keys and see if that happens again.

Here for BF 109F the joystick throttle work OK.

Is strange for Bf 109G, from 0 ~60% of joy throttle movement are no visible increase in ATA, after ATA increase until ~1.3 but is need move the joy throttle very slowly, or looks like a ON-OFF switch...

First. Yop my bad typo.

1. Nope, but it had to be mentioned nevertheless?

2. No idea I was down to a quarter of a tank.

3. Not likely, I boomed and zoomed him while shooting him up, he was at ground level up to 500 meter during the df

Du ser vel skaderne på hans Yak for fan!

Ah, maybe that is what was going on? I could have sworn the server I was flying in was expert mode, but Ill check again, thanks for the heads up

In NORMAL mode the "Throttle auto control" * are on, and to prevent overheat the "engine autopilot" cuts the throttle eventually.  :)

* This can be deactivate with key/button for "Automatic RPM limiter" (in Engine Controls).
