MiG21bisFishbedL Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Despite the issues that exist with the game, half off? That could be worth it, actually.
No601_Swallow Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Despite the issues that exist with the game, half off? That could be worth it, actually. Put the handbag down, Fishbed!

senseispcc Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 This is very soon is this a good sign?! Or is this a good announcement before the launch of a new game or spin off ? (BOM, why should I pay the full price if by waiting I could get it half price two months later?) Is this not saying to all how did pay full price for the premium game they made a big mistake?!
Jason_Williams Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 When Steam offers us a chance to run a sale we take it (Steam sales are very powerful) and when we do that, it is only fair to offer the same deal on our website. That's it, no conspiracy. Jason 4

Please, pardon my poor attempt at humour. Chief

II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Can you give half price sale to the La-5 and FW190 You missed the sale on those two weeks ago. If ROF is the model for sales, however, then it will come around again in a few months.

Rigmor Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Hi guys, I got the game half price, but hey! I don't have "Founder" on my tag, that's gotta be worth something right? What an awesome game, which deserves all the exposure it can get. 1
Zmaj76 Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 In fact I would buy it if I could run it decently on 660Ti and i7 3.9 Ghz. but with SSAO burned into video presets I cant and wont buy it...
310_cibule Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Will there ever be a sale for us dedicated and loyal sim pilots who always prepay or buy these products first?
Feathered_IV Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Will there ever be a sale for us dedicated and loyal sim pilots who always prepay or buy these products first? A bit hard to, when they've either prepaid or bought them already. 1

I don't have quite the rig you do but it runs fine on ultra for me. Go down to balanced and SSAO is turned off (I think). But you won't have too.

Fabioccio Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 I think I could buy it at this affordable price, if at least I've been able to test how the graphic settings work on my good old pc. What about a DEMO version or a benchmark? kampf

Fabioccio Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Download RoF free-to-play version. http://riseofflight.com/download/ If it runs well on your PC then BoS will probably too. Well, I've already have RoF and it runs well at medium high settings. What worries me is that I've read that BoS doesn't makes you customize settings (i.e. I would like to turn off antialiasing but leave object textures to high and terrain textures to med) like it was for RoF. Is this true? If it is so, could someone post the presets equals setting I should find in RoF, so I can check it. Thanks

What about a DEMO version or a benchmark? kampf The presets that are here while annoying to some are not as bad as some make out... BoS runs pretty stable on most users' PCs... You can hem and haw all you want .. but this sale is a no brainer if you are into flight sims... If you do not get it you will regret it later... Just my opinion.. but a pretty valid one ....

Thanks I owned BOS (not anymore since it was a fraud key purchased from what appered to be a thief) and with its "burned in" video settings it wasnt smooth in MP on standard settings as it is in ROF. In fact ROF runs much smoother with just a few tweaks under video settings (ROF has custome video settings). On of teh biggest is SSAO. So, nope, ROF wouldnt tell you how BOS will run on your rig. BTW my spec is i7 3.9 Ghz and GTX660Ti and my res is 1920x1200....on the same system even the most demanding sims as DCS and ARMA3 runs perfectly.. I think they lost many potential buyers with that super controversal decision with video presets. Im one of them. Simply because I wouldnt run it decently. Edited March 6, 2015 by Zmaj76

Thank you Zmaj Now I know better what to expect. Since my Pc is far inferior to yours in specs, I have lost hope and interest. I will wait till a demo or a 2 free plane version come out, so I can see with my own eyes the frame rate and then make a choice. You saved me 29 bucks and a lot of frustration. Thanks again. See you in WWI sky, maybe?

I own DCS, and I run it on low settings, and my computer can..... often keep up. (if you can run DCS on max, you can do anything in BoS) I run BoS at balanced, 100 fps, and it looks pretty damn good.

I would like to try it before giving up.

Maybe you should try BOs from your friends account. [Edited] Edited March 9, 2015 by Bearcat
Fabioccio Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 I've just bought the game on Steam for 25€ In the end I thought that investing only the equivalent 1/10 of what I've spent in the last years for Rise of Flight was not a big trouble. Considering the amount of fun that game have given and still gives to me.Now, let's see with my own eyes what these presets and unlocks are about! @Arthur - If you like fishing I have one big fat stick for you...or your... +1

Primus_71 Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 In my opinion, IL2 BoS is overall the best WW2 flight combat sim of all times, and at 50% off, it is a steal, really. I'm looking forward to Battle of Moscow and beyond.
Fabioccio Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Flown first missions with Lagg3 (now the name LAG makes sense ) Even with graphics preset to "Low" , AA 0x , my system shows a lot in game stutters, mostly near targets or cities. Plus in the main menu screen the mouse pointer is laggy. Landing the plane becomes difficult, not for the flight model but for the stutters. Got to find a workaround (maybe trying play Low Res 1280*720 helps someway) Btw the rest of the game seems great!
