If your PC is mixing Joystick IDs and you don't want to remap all your keys/axis try this.

Navigate to:

"Whatever Path You Installed Your IL2"\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\input

There you will find amongst others this two files:

current.actions

current.map

***MAKE A COPY OF THEM TO BE SECURED IN CASE OF MIX UP***

Use Notepad or Wordpad to open them. (or any txt editor)

Use the command "Find and Replace" and "Replace All" to rename all your mistaken "joyX" to the right number according to your present correct joy id in both files.

Save the files and you are good to go.

In case you don't know which ID you must use, just load IL2  and assign whatever you want from your input device to a key and just check the number it gives in the menu to it.

E.G. "Flaps Down : joy1_b4" . So now you know the id of your device.

P.S. If you want to exchange between 2 IDs, E.G. I want to make "joy1" to become "joy2" and in reverse, first replace all "joy1" with "joyAA", then replace all "joy2" with "joy1", and lastly all "joyAA" with "joy2". Sounds a lot but it wont take you more than 20 secs.

P.P.S. Usually the mix up upon plugging and unplugging joysticks varies between certain numbers, so "joy1" might become "joy2" or  "joy3", so another way is to create folders inside "input" folder of your IL2 with preset joy IDs and with a simple COPY/PASTE  from them in to "input" folder you are set.

E.G.:

MSFFB ID 1 - CH ID 2

MSFFB ID 0 - CH ID 1

MSFFB ID 3 - CH ID 0

Hope it helps :)
