ShredatorFIN Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 (edited) Just got brand new Saitek Pro Flight Cessna rudder pedals, but seems that the right toe break doesn't work. Sometimes there is no signal at all, sometimes the axis jumps suddenly to 70-100% when I gently try to press it. The lower area doesn't react at all, axis starts to work after half way or so. But there *are* also times when it works flawlessly and also in the lower part of the axis, it's totally random. Left toe break and the rudder itself works fine. I'm almost certain it's RMA case, but wanted to ask if it could be faulty installation process, or some other software related thing? Because I ordered it from another country, pisses me off to return it Does it matter whether I have it plugged to USB 2.0 or 3.0? I think it might have been in 2.0 when I installed it, later switched to 3.0. I'm not using any USB hubs, it's connected directly. Edited February 28, 2015 by ShredatorFIN
ST_Pirato Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 In case you haven't yet, try if it helps to calibrate the Pedals in Windows.
=EXPEND=Tripwire Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Had to RMA mine after 1 week of ownership so I understand your frustration. Can't offer you any advice as my pedals failed differently (main rudder axis).
ShredatorFIN Posted February 28, 2015 Author Posted February 28, 2015 (edited) I found out, that moving the main rudder axis slightly around center, triggers the problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSQCq8EAnAM On the video, I keep right toe brake 100% pressed and nudge the rudder axis around center. There is one spot, that makes the signal from toe brake disappear. If I move past that spot, away from center, it comes back. I re-installed Saitek drivers, didn't help. Is there a way to calibrate in Windows? Other than that window? It seems like weak contact / faulty mechanism to me though. The fact that it's always right toe brake that has this problem and never left + it being related to the position of the main rudder axis makes it seem like faulty components inside. Scott_Steiner Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 I don't think there is much hope in keeping it, looks like it needs to be returned!
