Poor pregnant girl dyed.... I'm so glad I read some of the comments here before starting to watch it Edited March 29, 2015 by 6./JG5_Emil
Finkeren Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Good news guys! There's more to come: http://www.starmediafilm.com/en/serial/istrebiteli_poslednij_boj 2
Feathered_IV Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 That's great news. I really loved the first one. I'm very glad to see Maria Andreeva will be back too. I hope the "new Yak-3's" means they have a better budget and don't use those awful monstrosities from last season.
Finkeren Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 (edited) Don't get your hopes up. The 'monstrosities' from the first season already kinda looked Yak-3ish with their lack of chin radiator. Propably just gave the old planes a new post-August 1943 paintjob And as we can see, they will still be fighting Emils in 1940 camo, the most abundant LW fighter in frontline service in 1944. 6./ZG26_Custard Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Great news, but I will miss Lydia or Lidia or Lyida (as the subtitles kept changing the poor woman's name!) She is a honey
Finkeren Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Nah Lyda had to go. She was a great character but her story arc was also very obviously going to be a tragic one. Seldom have I seen a major characters death foreshadowed so thoroughly: Her tricking her way out of the medical discharge, her finally sleeping with her love interest the night before the German onslaught. She might as well have been a teenager about to have sex in a Friday the 13th film.

Finkeren Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 (edited) Goddammit! They look soooo nice. It's so good to finally see beautiful actresses allowed to play strong, independent characters and not just be a male heros love interest or a scheming temptresses. I dunno why it took so long for TV-screenwriters to realize. Edited April 20, 2015 by Finkeren 1

I did notice the Yaks in the promo pic are spitting tracers from their air intakes. Must be a very special production batch. I also noticed there is a remake of the excellent The Dawns here are Quiet, which is due out this month. I'm currently watching the original on YT. Great stuff
Feathered_IV Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTPMJGzakgYGuess I'd better watch the final episode. Season 2 is out. WOOT!!! 1
Finkeren Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 WOOT!!! indeed.... And just as I'm going away on vacation
=EXPEND=Tripwire Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Just finished the second series (12 more episodes). Once you get past the poor takeoff scenes etc, it is very enjoyable. Find the Russian version and just enable the subtitles. Similar quality to the first series.
Finkeren Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Still haven't gotten around to watch the second series. Will have to get around to that.
71st_AH_Hooves Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Its not bad at all, I mean doing Aircombat is hard to do in CGI, I just suspend disbeleif and try to enjoy the story. Im glad they are telling it. I wish an American comapany would do a similar series, the last one I rememebr is Ba Ba Blacksheep.

Not watched the 2nd one yet but I thought it was believable....more so that embarrassment Red Tails
mb339pan Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 not a bad series, the fight scenes are "made in Russia", but the history, actors and reconstruction make the addictive series
Trooper117 Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Yes, I watched the first series over the last 2 days, very enjoyable... but someone please tell me the russian military is nothing like its depicted in the film... it's a wonder they ever won at all, with all that political garbage going on. Off to watch season 2!
Willy__ Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Is there a season 2 ? Can someone send me the link please ???
Trooper117 Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Look at the video link above...' the last flight' is season 2
Finkeren Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Still only watched the first two episodes of 'last flight'. I don't know what it is, but I think something is missing. Maybe it's just that Bes is far too much of a 'good guy' to be an engaging character. In the first season it was more of an ensemble piece with the hard-as-nails but thoroughly neurotic Lyda and the well meaning but ultimately powerless regiment commander as more nuanced and in the end more interesting characters.
Trooper117 Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Yes, the first series I really enjoyed... but watching this second attempt, I'm not impressed so far
