Original_Uwe Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Hi all. Ive only trie ths new update twice in the qmb. 109F4 vs Il2 (no tail guner). Every time my rounds impact on target I hear it in my airframe. Anyone else?
Reflected Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Yepp, even when the enemy is 100m ahead of you. Hits on your own airframe often remain unheard though. It might be a bug with the sound engine, I haven't seen much official feedback on this.

SYN_Ricky Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 The same here. I can hear hits on enemy plane much louder than hits on my own one... Same for me, pretty annoying as you really should not hear hits on enemy planes…
Tyberan Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 same here. Thought I got shot at and was hit. Turns out I did but besides the point, I hear all bullets hitting the enemy
=362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 This is interesting indeed, flown on multi yesterday. I could hear the hits on enemy airframe easily but once I was a bit fixated on my target someone sneaked behind me and started turning my plane into metal scraps, until it was too late I heard not a single of the hits. Hope there is a way to fix this
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 been reported.. thanks Ill link this page also
wellenbrecher Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Soooo the sound wasn't fixed after all? :/ My file is still set to more than the default number of max sounds but I obviously didn't know if this had been done by the patch or if it's still my own edit. But hey, at least I hear hits on my own crate most of the time that way.
Reflected Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 The sounds are there, but this engine considers the speed of sound (in a wrong way), that's why you "fly in to" the hit sounds of your prey, but you "fly away" from the ones on your own plane. Then again, I have yet to see a 109 fly faster than Mach 1, and I would think metal is a good conductor of sounds...
-TBC-AeroAce Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Yeah I hear hits on enemy planes quite loud but I do hear them when I get hit and always have
SR-F_Winger Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Have yet to hit someone! Master Hah - funny! +1 to OP. I also experience that but since 1.009 i can hear hits on my own plane much better. I think its just a matter of tuning. I am sure theyll get it right eventually.
oneeyeddog Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 I can hear hit sounds on enemy Aircraft when i'm close to the target, as I could before this recent patch. Now however I can also hear hit sounds on my own Aircraft loud and clear.

Then again, I have yet to see a 109 fly faster than Mach 1, and I would think metal is a good conductor of sounds... That has been a problem since... well always really. I had been hoping they had worked on that as well in 1.009 's all.
Trident_109 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Yeah I hear hits on enemy planes quite loud but I do hear them when I get hit and always have Except when I get hit it sounds like the bullet is going through canvas or light wood instead of aluminum/metal. The enemy plane's sounds like a proper smack with a hammer on a metal surface. I had at one time thought the noise I was hearing when hitting an enemy was debris hitting my plane. Does my plane take damage from debris... and does it make a sound when I am hit with shrapnel?
71st_AH_Hooves Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 I found the older fix of turning up the in game sound all the way then turning down the game volume in windows helped again to hear impacts on my A/C

Yeah, roughly speaking, the speed of sound in aluminum at room temperature is 11000 mph.
-TBC-AeroAce Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 A way to check the accuracy of speed of sound in game would be to get a mate online fly 340 meters ( I think this is speed of sound in air) away from each other with auto level on or 680....... See if u can count the time between getting seeing the flash and hearing them shoot as it should be 1 second or 2 respectively.
Willy__ Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 While I was fighting a yak earlier today he managed to score 2-3 hits and I heard them loud and clear.
Vaxxtx Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 So same issue that has always been there for some? I thought the latest patch was suppose to fix them? Real immersion killer. http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/12468-hit-sounds-revisited/page-2?hl=sounds&do=findComment&comment=233725
IRRE_Belmont Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Can confirm this : -Enemy airplanes hits sounds are WAYYYY too loud -No sounds at all when taking damages
Vaxxtx Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 I wish someone would say if this is fixable or not. And by fixable I mean on the games end, not an endless list of tweaks from people with band aid suggestions. 1
Wulf Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Have yet to hit someone! Master Hee he he....heeee Get in line buddy.
Uriah Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 sense this patch I have heard hits on my plane much loader than before when they were muffled by the engine sound. I have been pleased with the change but would like loader,
