viperrm64 Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I was just wondering how many AI enemy or indeed friendly AI aircraft the ME and the sim itself can handle up in the air at the same time, for example 16,32 or maybe 64!!!, also will custom skins be available to all AI planes even if static on the ground in other words parked or on an apron as this will surely add to the realism, it is something that is very hard to do in say IL2COD. 1

We're getting the FME which is an extremely powerful and extremely complex bit of kit which the devs used for game development. Since it's basically the dev tool supplied with RoF it ain't going to be a FMB as many people know it. In the meantime

Based on SME experience I can say that mine handle ~20-30... also will custom skins be available to all AI planes even if static on the ground in other words parked or on an apron Based on Veteram66 missions statics planes use default (green) skins. And for AI dont use skins with numbers, or you will see a "Clone attack"...

viperrm64 Posted February 23, 2015 Author Posted February 23, 2015 I've started using the FME but it's a bit buggy keep getting a few no load missions although I'm sure it's something I'm doing also there is no way to change skins on AI planes which is a shame.
heinkill Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 (edited) My rig manages 50 aircraft at 30fps in SME, w no ground objects. Unfortunately the game in its current state cant manage their formations..they keep crashing into each other. Hoping next update helps that. Will be interested to see if devs have put limits on unit size in the FME similar to what we have today in QMB and campaign...4-6 aircraft. H Edited February 23, 2015 by heinkill
