Splash damage with explosive cannon round

This could explain why the aircraft take engine damage so quickly and without direct hits. The only reason I know there is a splash damage of some kind is because while flying around with a squaddie in a stall fight, a rolling scissor with yak and 109, a second squaddie came in to attack me. He managed to hit and damage me but also damaged the 109 next to me, who happened to be rolling with me very close, I would estimate he was about 20~ meters from me at the time. The 109 in a roll with me was very close. This splash damage is so large, even my 2nd squaddie whom had shot me claims he heard a hit to his plane as he flew by and shot my Yak. There was nobody on either 109's six, I did not damage either 109, not the one in a roll with me or the one taking a pass at me and both took damage from the 20mm's splash damage.

My second squaddie claims he had only shot me, the Yak and didn't hit the 109 yet the first 109, whom I was in a scissor with, went down with excessive motor damage immediately as if he had taken the hits.

I have witnessed this before as well and if need be I can create a video to demonstrate what I'm talking about, please let me know.

Diving down on a Pe-2(fooling around with the AI to learn the aircraft and weapon characteristics in singleplayer offline mode), the twin engine medium Soviet attack bomber, I landed a few cannon hits behind the cockpit and between the two motors in my 109. Both motors immediately took oil and radiator damage. I did not hit the motors with direct fire yet they took excessive damage, as if I had.

The splash damage of perhaps all the weapon rounds needs to be adjusted quite a bit as far as I can tell. It should require direct hits with weapons fire to damage a motor, outside of something large caliber(above 23mm). The only sort of weapon that would create that kind of splash damage(that will eventually be in the game) would be something like a 37mm HE round(MAYBE), with this sort of round you could actually damage a plane flying very low(maybe 10 meters off the deck) by hitting the ground below or next to him. A 20mm of any kind doesn't have that kind of HE power or damage radius.

Please investigate and fix this! It will drastically improve the quality of gameplay if made historical and realistic.

Thanks for reading.
