SOLIDKREATE Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 I'm just asking so I know when we can expect to see those planes. I'd also like to see the Fw-190A-4/U3 with the twin MG151/20 gunpods. And also the Bf-109G-4 and Bf-109G-6 + La-5n and La-7? I have searched everywhere for a plane list but I can't find one. I did however find and entire list of Axis aircraft that flew in the desert war. Believe me there are way more types than you think. Here's an example of what I am looking for: N.Afrika Flight SIM.txt
Finkeren Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 (edited) The Hs 129 apparently got its combat debut during Fall Blau and over Stalingrad. There's been some dispute over this, but there exists photos that unmistankingly depicts a Hs 129 over Stalingrad before the snowfall started. Fw 190s with gun pods would've been extremely rare on the Eastern Front. These were employed almost exclusively as 'Pulkzerstörers' against heavy bombers in the West. The Lend-lease Spits got their debut in the Caucasus-Kuban area in early spring 1943. I'm pretty sure the La-5FN had its debut at Kursk I don't know the exact dates and places for the other, but some general dates would be: Bf 109G4: Winter 1942/43 Bf 109G6: Early summer 43 Fw 190A5: Late spring/early summer 43 (maybe at Kursk?) La-7: October 44 (combat trials in September in the northern parts of the front) Edited February 21, 2015 by Finkeren 2
ImPeRaToR Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Fw190A-4/U3 was the precursor to the F-Series, later renamed to 190F-1. It had the outer wing guns removed and an ETC501 with reinforced armor:http://www.focke-wulf190.com/frame3.htm

(Hs 129 also was actively used before, during BOS and around.........) several Bf 109 G-4 were mentioned in BOS (JG3? just forgot regiment). Bf 109 G-6 (mostly? with 1.42 ata) firstly? were used in battle of kursk (USSR even got Bf 109 G-6 1.42 ata of Rossman (plus old G-4 of Lohberg), but plane was crushed during take off). first combat test of La-5FN it's also battle of kursk. 1CGS LukeFF Posted February 22, 2015 1CGS Posted February 22, 2015 The Hs 129 B-1 made its debut in the East in early May 1942 in Crimea with 4./Sch.G 1, followed soon after by 5. Staffel.
SOLIDKREATE Posted March 9, 2015 Author Posted March 9, 2015 I just hope we get these some time in the next two years. I know the next area will probably be the Kuban and Crimea.

ShamrockOneFive Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I just hope we get these some time in the next two years. I know the next area will probably be the Kuban and Crimea. I kind of hope so. Kuban would be a great place to introduce the P-39, Spitfire V, Yak-1B and/or 9, IL-2M, La-5F as well as FW190F-1, Bf110G-2. For Kursk we could see the La-5FN, Yak-9T, FW190A-5 (6?), Il-2 Type 3 (and 3M), Hs129B-2, etc. Not fully thought out but those two battles would let us fly a ton of aircraft that folks are really interested in on these boards.
Halon Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 The Lend-lease Spits got their debut in the Caucasus-Kuban area in early spring 1943. lend-lease.airforce.ru/english/articles/spit/ Fascinating article translated into English about the lend-lease Spitfires in Kuban and their trials and tribulations along the way. Also includes comparisons with the Airacobra and Yak-1.
