I'm still flying IL-2, and Free Falcon. LOMAC occasionally; CFS3.

I used to buy all the new Sims, and I could pick up Rise of Flight now for around ?

You don't need internet connection to play RoF. There is offline mode option.

Even though for the first ativation you HAVE to be on-line.

Still I think that compared to Starforce and such it's one of the best systems ever.

If you want to continue the career you need te be online. I can understand that this can be frustriating in times when your own connection might be down and such. Althought I believe that ROF was one of the most successful games to defeat Internet piracy. Absolutely no pirated copy of the game existed. So I don't know I am not that against the mandatory Internet connection.

I should clarify that +1... What I mean is that the initial activation and interaction with the sim for updates is a good thing but I do like the fact that you can now fly it offline. That was a turn off to me in the beginning. I also think it would be great if it could be flown like IL2 mm IP to IP as well as a lobby of some sorts. I am impressed that there were no pirated copies of RoF. That is a good thing and I think the environment plus two free planes modelnis great.

It's less invasive than steam in that you don't have anything like the steam client runing in the background.

I think there should be an offline career component and an online one.

You got that right. I hate steam. When I want to boot up a sim I don't want to have to resist a sales pitch.
