15[Span.]/JG51Costa Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 One of the things I loved about Janes WWII Fighters was the Big Band music. Sort of made you think about how young these guys were. If it wasn't for war they'd be back home going out on Friday nights and all that. Sort of put things into perspective. Totally agree.
US95th_Vampire Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 S! all.... SCG_Neun Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Vampire that was worth listening to. I will have to find lyrics in English. http://lyricstranslate.com Sometimes it seems to me that the soldiers, Which haven't returned from blood's fields, Haven't layed in our land, But have turned into white cranes. From those distant times They fly and we hear their voices. Is it because so often and so sadly We are falling silent and looking into heaven? The tired crane flock flies, flies through the sky, Flies in the mist at the end of the day. And it is a small gap in this order - Perhaps this place is for me. The day will come, and in such crane flock I'll swim in the same blue-gray haze. Calling out like a bird from the heavens All of you who are left on earth. Sometimes it seems to me that the soldiers, Which haven't returned from blood's fields, Haven't layed in our land, But have turned into white cranes. Rigel Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Not 20 century but patriotic war too (first patriotic war)
Wind Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 They have to get this sim out on deadline. This. In projects it is all about prioritizing : You have X amount of budget , Y amount of time and Z amount of things to do. In games (and in quite a different medias ) the soundscaping // music is quite low on the ladder. It is not that they are not important, they just are not considered as critical as gfx, controls, stability etc... But good soundscaping IS extremely effective in creating a immersive gaming experience. As hearing is relatively passive process, we as humans dont spend a lot of conscious resources processing it but the soundscaping effects us strongly. Small, even retardedly obscure things ,like ambient noise, distant talking, banging doors, radio, wind affect how "present" we feel in the space. Add to that some good music, and you will have a lasting memory imprint. Hell, each of us can think our favourite games from the past and how their songs have stuck! I can still hear the SteelPanthers music playing... But, how crucial for example the music is this kind of sim...well...
Lord_Haw-Haw Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 I agree, I too see it as a low priority, but it is sort of the icing on the cake. For the German side, this might be of interest as it is non political, and still in use today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXlkUwx3OoM or go for a melody that is a wee bit old fashion, and has been recycled by the British? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9vD0GS6jfI But as I mentioned, this I view with very low priority, if the dev. feel like adding fine, if not also fine. Main thing is that the user has the option of turning off, or turning on as he prefers.
II./JG27_Rich Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Something classical with guts! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5XjaOJgCdY&feature=youtu.be
Lord_Haw-Haw Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Well then you can take any Wagner opera.....I think I would turn that one off
II./JG27_Rich Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 (edited) Well then you can take any Wagner opera.....I think I would turn that one off Like Wagner ...Can't stand Operas lol. Love the prelude to Tristan and Isolde but as soon as they start screaming away at each other it wrecks it for me. Ride Of The Valkyries..everyone uses that so I get kind of tired of that. Blooddawn1942 Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 The thing is, no matter what kind of music is within the games menu...after some time it nerves...truely. In the end I turn it off. So at least I'm perfectly fine without it. Just remember the original IL-2 "score"...Even after all the years i get sick if I think back to those days haha.An mp3 folder would be a nice sollution. When I'm just trying arround and not doing serious flying, I have my windows media player running in the background. Pounding some bad guys into the dust while listening to some violent death metal stuff means a lot of fun, hehe :D
II./JG27_Rich Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 When we get to the Mediterranean and North Africa I can use my George Abdo Belly Dance music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-F4Ci2nFcM
