216th_Peterla Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Hi guys, Some work in progress of Navy No21. 1
216th_Peterla Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Hi all, I'm back. For different reasons I was not on the skins for a while but I'm engaging three new schemes, two of them from Mr Viktor Povinsky's book. I will use also some drawings from Massimo's work due to the partial view of the camouflage scheme on Povinsky's ones(doesn't show the whole pattern). I will apply an standard scheme from those aircrafts based on similar ones that I guess are from Zavod 30. Attached a sneak pic from Povinsky's book. Regards!!! 1
216th_Peterla Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 (edited) I almost have the pair ready. As you can see the camo is basically the same, with some minor differences. Edited June 19, 2015 by peterla 1
Yankee_One Posted June 20, 2015 Author Posted June 20, 2015 (edited) Hi Peter, i LUVE them. Great job mate. Cant wait for the "yellow" ones. S! Edited June 20, 2015 by LcSummers
216th_Peterla Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 It's not an IL2 but it's a little fella. WIP. 2
Learstang Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Beautiful! Lovely little 'Mosca', Spanish for 'fly', that's what the Spanish Republicans called it. The Spanish Fascists called it the 'Rata', or 'rat', the name the Germans continued to use in WWII (some of the German pilots had flown in Spain). Whatever you call it, it looks great. I've always loved Spanish Civil War aircraft. I wish someone would do a Spanish Civil War simulator. Regards, Jason
Yankee_One Posted August 14, 2015 Author Posted August 14, 2015 Hi Pedro, fantastic little bird, love those colors. Great to see that Mosca @Jason, this was a hard fight. Finally amazon will ship your book on August 18th. Heavy birth S! 1
216th_Peterla Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Hi all and thanks. The Mosca is ready in the I16 thread. Regards, Peter 1
216th_Peterla Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Hi all, After a set of republican "Moscas" I almost have finished a captured "Rata", with the colors of the 26th Grupo de Caza, Spanish Air Force(1944-1945). 1

216th_Peterla Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Hi guys, After a quick excursion with the I16 I'm coming back to my beloved IL2. Still Work in progress. 1
Yankee_One Posted August 25, 2015 Author Posted August 25, 2015 Yes, i like the winter camo, nice job mate. 1
Learstang Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 That's a very interesting scheme! Regards, Jason 1
216th_Peterla Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 (edited) Hi guys, Thanks for the feedback. I still need to work on the winter camo pattern; it looks a little plain to me. Anyways I'm also working in and old project that I am showing you below. About the spinner I don't know if I understand properly Massimo's drawings. Looks like there is a yellow tip on the cone, but could be also orange. Any feedback will be welcome. Edited August 25, 2015 by peterla 1
Learstang Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 It looks like there is a yellow tip to the propeller spinner, according to Massimo's profile. Regards, Jason 1
216th_Peterla Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 (edited) Hi all, gentleman, I need your help. I'm looking for information(mostly aircraft profiles that show any detail of how the aircraft was painted) of IL2 that were involved in the Stalingrad front. The following units had been suggested as probables:(thanks to Panzerbar & Tatarenko) 1.09.1942 South-Eastern Front: 289 ShAD (232 ShAP, 806 ShAP) Stalingradsky Front: 8 Air Army 206 ShAD 226 ShAD 228 ShAD 1.10.1942 Donskoy Front: 16 Air Army 228 ShAD 291 ShAD Stalingradsky Front: 8 Air Army 206 ShAD 226 ShAD 289 ShAD 1.11.1942 Donskoy Front: 16 Air Army 228 ShAD 291 ShAD Stalingradsky Front: 8 Air Army 206 ShAD 226 ShAD 289 ShAD (232 ShAP, 806 ShAP) 1.12.1942 Donskoy Front: 16 Air Army 228 ShAD 291 ShAD Stalingradsky Front: 8 Air Army 206 ShAD 226 ShAD 1.01.1943 Donskoy Front: 16 Air Army 228 ShAD Stalingradsky Front: 8 Air Army 214 ShAD 206 ShAD 226 ShAD 1.02.1943 Donskoy Front: 16 Air Army 228 ShAD Stalingradsky Front: 8 Air Army 214 ShAD 206 ShAD 226 ShAD ---------------------- 686ShAP (IL-2) 688ShAP (IL-2) 267ShAD (IL-2) 811ShAP (IL-2) I don't know how accurate the information is but we will try to find out. I attach two pictures of a profile made for the 214ShAD with a feasible/fictional winter camo. Thanks for your help. Edited September 23, 2015 by peterla 1
Yankee_One Posted October 31, 2015 Author Posted October 31, 2015 (edited) Great Peter, interestng camouflage. I like those spots. I like those unusal skins on the IL-2. S! Edited October 31, 2015 by LcSummers
Learstang Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Lc, they weren't repairs, they were done to make the Il-2 blend in more with the dry summer ground cover. Regards, Jason P.S. Beautiful work as always, Peter!

Beautiful work as always, Peter! Thanks Jason for the answer! I realized it a little bit later. Didnt know you answered me thats why i have earased my question. S! 1
216th_Peterla Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 (edited) Hi guys, I have a small dilemma. I don't know which version choose. The first one is without metallic wing template and tail boom reinforcements, the second with the previous mentioned addons. In case of realism, maybe the second is the proper but I'm not sure about my tail boom reinforced frames; they don't look so integrated as the wing template looks. What do you think? As per Massimo's statement about the picture, he said that it's probably a metallic wing; the frames on the tail boom are clearly visible. Reference: http://mig3.sovietwarplanes.com/il-2/il2-camo/il2-1942/il-2model1942.htm Edited November 4, 2015 by peterla
Yankee_One Posted November 4, 2015 Author Posted November 4, 2015 I for myself would choose the one without the reinforcement frames. Why? Because they are too flat but this is only my opinion. On the other side you made an ac with metal wings and one without it. So if you want post both of them and let the players choose! S!
Learstang Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 I think I like the one with the reinforcing longerons, but as LC says, let the players choose. Regards, Jason
216th_Peterla Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Fictional inspired P40 scheme based on a Dutch P40N.
1.JaVA_BlGGLES Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Simpele one word! WoW Is this the first of a serie?
216th_Peterla Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 (edited) Simpele one word! WoW Is this the first of a serie? I don't have too much info of them. I don't even know if your national markings are also on the top of the wings. Just let me know if you want anything else and I'll see what can be done. If you have more pictures they are welcome. EDITED: I was playing around with some pictures I have. I don't know how accurate they are. There are not so much info as I mentioned above. Anyways this is a game, and those are going to fit it's purpose. If you have more info about them we can modify/correct them. The "Snafu" one I don't know if is the same aircraft with different color profile interpretation or is a common phrase in the Squadron(120th). In the pack are four different skins. The three that you can see in the attached pics and the one posted above. Note also that the pictured ones are N models not E.
