If you could pick a theater or battle specific area flight sim of the Luftwaffe vs. Allies, where would it be? I you have a battle specific theme post it in the comments.

I for one would love to see the whole Mediterranean/N.Africa theater.

Talking axis v allies I would go for med/n Africa early. My true passion is the Vietnam war. I would drop every other sim in an instant if a dev developed a modern Vietnam air war sim. Unfortunately every dev is competing with ever other dev to get all the ww2 players playing their sim. Even DCS, Eagle Dynamics, seem to be turning their back on their long time fan base by putting their modern aircraft on hold to pump out WW2 aircraft.

Anything without a Focke Wulf 190 would be good. I'd definitely like to fly some Polish aircraft again. Had great value out of the P.11c in the original Il-2 series.

I'd like to fly some AD-6 and EA-1F Skyraiders, A-6B Intruders and some B-26's. Hell the A-4 Skyhawk would be great too along with the F-8 Crusader and A-7 Corsair. Many now you have me all jazzed up!

I wouldn't change a thing in terms of theatre from what we have now, only expand it like what happened with the original IL-2. The Eastern Front was by far the most dramatic, intense and varied theatre of the war and no where could the shifting tides of the war be felt more directly.

If I were to pick the next battle to go to, it would be either Moscow or Kuban/Kerch 1943.

If I absolutely had to pick a completely different theatre I would go for a RAF/LW night bomber campaign study sim with all the technical bells and whistles.

Anywhere anytime would be a great addition.

+1

In agreement there, something new and very different would be a pleasant change.

Yep!   At least we know where we're going now.

For myself I voted for the med/n.africa 43-44.  The desert don't really float my boat - snow, sand....sigh,  but the thought of Operation Husky with escort carriers, the desert airforce, etc I find pretty exciting.

I also voted for w. Europe 43-44 too.  Lots of mid-war channel action with all the major fighter and bomber types present.

I suppose we'll have to revisit this poll next year. ;)

Well, tbh: When you look at the upcoming planeset, Macchi C.202, P-40E, Bf 109 E and early F and Bf 110, it's hard not to get the sense, that we're going to Africa anno 1942/43 sometime in the foreseeable future ;)

The best thing about that, is that all the German/Italian planes and a fair number of the British/American ones, could very well find a place on the Eastern Front maps as well.

Personally I'd like something mid-late war, '43-44 or so. I don't care where it is, but I'd love a 109 G6!

I honestly don't get the fascination with the G6. Apart from the fact that it was the most produced version of the 109, what's so special about it? To me it's always felt like they were slapping a big pair of fake tits on a perfectly nice looking girl :P

Well, I'm cool with any late-war 109, but what I look forward to is the U4 (Mk 108 30mm) modification.

Resulting in this:

Personali-tits aside, I know you have a strange taste in aircraft, so I'll take your disgusting comment about the 109's curves with a pinch of salt. ;)

Yeah A-1 Skyraider, B-26 counter invader and F-8 Crusader are the 3 I'd give my left nut for.

Aren't we pretty much getting that result with 20mm guns right now?

Besides, if you wanna talk about the idea of putting huge guns in the nose of small aircraft, the Soviet Union was there first ;)

There's nothing strange about loving the MiG-3 to the point, where you have a picture of it printed on a pillow, you sleep with at night.

Nothing!
