The "Unlimited Ammo" case (insert cursing here)

So, when I want to play (play, not simulate) and just relax, I limit difficulties (wind, fuel, etc) and of course set BoS to unlimited ammo.

But every time, I end up cursing and yelling out of frustration, since:

 

- Ammo do run low and finish

- you have to hit R every few seconds as the magazines are empty

- R behaviour is the MOST unreliable thing EVER, works, doesn't works, works but not immediately, works when its mood is ok....

- when it works, sometimes your cannons WONT fire for a random amount of seconds, then they start working

- when you hit R and everything works, your plane can happen to fire an incomplete set of weapons (i.e. the guns but not the cannons, or just the cannon, no need to say sooner or later all the weapons will star shooting together, absolutely random)

 

Case 1 . there is something horribly wrong I don't know and this is why Im experiencing such things

Case 2 devs seriously need to fix this crappy thing, please, please PLEASEEEE, it's making me hate BoS, when this product deserves all our love and admiration

 

please fix it, when we go casual all we want is pew-pew-pew, no worries, tons of lead and destruction.

I think the "reload" option has some things lost in translation...you can't actually reload these aircraft weapons while in mid-air, so the function of this button should be labeled as "charge weapons" or "clear jammed weapon". I think when you press the "reload" button it's simulating clearing a jam that just hasn't been implemented or triggered yet and sets off a chance to act like a weapon is inoperable until you attempt another charging. We'll probably be seeing a chance of jammed weapons in the future and this button will be the thing that gives a chance to fix it...until then, just realize you're basically using an underhandedly coded cheat mode that is missing part of its implementation.

 

...also, just as we all know by watching the engine startup sequence, our pilot does not move with a sense of urgency. In fact, I'm pretty sure if anyone watches you from the third person while charging weapons or starting the engine you can see a couple yawns between lever pulls and button presses.

I fly quick missions one in a while and i get to use the reload function here and there. I don't think it's broken, but it is implemented in a very particular way.

 

In order for reload to work at all, the ammo has to be COMPLETELY depleted for at least one gun.

 

1. You have to hold the Reload key (R by default) for a while, I'd say at least 2 sec. That will fill the depleted gun's ammo after a brief pause.
2. You have to hold the key again for a couple of seconds to charge the weapon.
3. Now you can shoot!

It would be simpler if all this took a simpe press of a button, but once you know how it works it's not as frustrating.

Tried everything, trust me. Yes it's very strange to say the least, and I hope it will work well soon, since from a "casual arcade" point of view it's simply abominable.

And almost every night it makes me say things that make Jesus cry.

There's nothing wrong with the reload option, just watch your ammo indicators, and as was said, hit the R key when ammo is depleted and keep tapping until the cannon and machine gun slides are full, also the circular dial on top will light up.

Go to Stuka rear gunner station and see how gunner recharge the gun: remove the drum, fit another, cook the MG. This take some time.

 

The little gnomes inside fuselage/wings do the same thing on fighters.
